@PinkNews Only a psychologist can diagnose gender dysphoria. Teachers can't diagnose ADHD dyslexia autism or other conditions. If they encourage gender incongruence they are merely ideological activists. They are playing a dangerous game with children's mental health. This must be stopped.

@Serena_Partrick Before I did my PhD and became a child psychologist I worked as an educational psychologist. In 10 years I never met one child with gender incongruence. Not one, ever. 100s of schools and well over 1000 pupils. Nowadays, everywhere. Social contagion,media and activists.

@prof_curiosity1 If parents tell me their child is trans I give them a quick talk on foreclosure of identity and advise them that any gender distress is fluctuating and should not be reinforced by changing clothes or pronouns.Most accept that but the opposing narrative is everywhere & it's tough.

Now, many colleagues are commenting how common it is. It is definitely contagion, fuelled by cluster B personality type mothers and social media.
