Otome games that have only male love interests aren't going away. Indie games having female or nonbinary lis doesn't mean every game will stop catering to you. If you don't want it, you don't have to play it. Just don't be homophobic about it.

I kinda agree. I feel sad for Furina but Focalors must have known that herself as a human would make the same choices. If Furina had Focalors’ memories and knowledge, she would still do the same thing. Furina as a human is still the same worthy god of justice that Focalors is

I think that even if her suffering was so long and thankless, Furina would still have done it again given the chance for her people. She may be human, but to me she is more godly than most gods we’ve seen. A god doesn’t need a reason to love or want to protect their people

Unironically got the most useful language learning advice (for me) from vn subreddits which is basically learn a few hundred most common words, basic grammar and start reading. Look up what you don’t know but just read.

I love focallette so much because of so many reasons, but also they're so shoujo/manhwa coded, it just hits the right spots as someone who loves romance media and otome games. I'm not a huge fan of doomed/tragic romances but something about them makes me eat it up

Anyway dating sims, amare games, and otome games are more often than not, not 100% wholesome and there will be content some will find problematic. Fluffy, 100% non-problematic vns are pretty rare.

Is not wanting to play female routes homophobic? No, but the wording I've seen some use can be construed to be a little homophobic. As I said, if you don't want it, don't play, there's no need to be huffy about indies having female routes.

Lots of otome indies have unique mechanics. Most (non-mobile) otome games in general also have great stories and strong protagonists. Idk about the state of mobile otome games nowadays but PC/Console otome are full of great games

Unrelated but visual novel does not always equal dating sim and vice versa. There could be differences based on the kind of story or mechanics. For example, a lot of otome games are not exactly romance heavy and focus on plot

I actually understand why it had to be Neuvi to give Furina her vision and why she would have powers. And this isn’t just from a shipping lens. Focalors couldn’t give it to her because it would be antithetical to what she was trying to achieve.

I think the story did her dirty in the way the aftermath was handled. I personally preferred her and Focalors merging even if they become human but I understood the value of her sacrifice. The biblical references were too real
