If you still happen to have ANY of these apps preserved or know someone who does please let me know
I'm not giving this hunt up
Screenshots from archived reviews
Now Keith has also narrated more random house books like these here
Sadly the apps they were featured on have not been preserved yet and no high quality recordings of the narrations exist
So i'm on a hunt for them!
Some sad news. My father (and
@skeevyd
‘s), Brian Trueman, has died. 92 years of happy life. A career in television and radio that included Children's Hour, Clitheroe Kid, Scene at 6.30, Granada Reports, Brass Tacks, Screen Test…
So i was listening to a podcast interview with Joseph May and there was this brilliant bit he did in his Thomas voice and i just had to turn that into a video
Okay legit credit to AEG.
Bruno's autism portrayal feels accurate and respectful so far.
The way he doesn't look the ones he's talking to in the eyes and goes into detail when speaking of something, all things i personally still struggle with.
Well Done writing staff, well done.
S1 promos are so interesting cause a lot of them are taken from angles you normally don't see on the sets
It's like they were tests by the crew to see what kind of angles they could achieve on these relatively small sets
Here's a great little moment from the German audiobooks, it's from the adaption of Toby The Tram Engine, it's a more fleshed out scene were Toby is informed about his line closing
English subtitles available
It's the fact he managed to give almost every character he voiced either a unique voice or made it distinct enough from his others that it's never the exact same voice
This man has a range on par with some of the biggest legends in the VA industry
Am I the only one who's impressed that Keith Wickham voiced almost 100th characters in the Thomas and Friends series? He has to be the only Thomas VA to get more roles out of any other casts out there
All Engines Go is so funny cause as much as it strays away from the source material it also just randomly decides to pull bits from the RWS that the OG series never touched or originally changed
Wilbert criticising Henry's interest in the forest despite being an engine is so hypocritical cause he literally wrote a story where Thomas was interested in fishing
Funny how Michael Angelis sounds way more enthusiastic in this promo than he did in the show at the time (this is from 2004 around the time S8 was coming out)
God these two shots are so cool
Seeing this giant engine trying to get a grip on the ice coupled with the phenomenal sound design is just amazing to watch
The Train Chase theme from Wrong Trousers has to be one of the best examples of instrumentation i've ever heard
The tune is meant to be very ragtime silent film like, but the instrumentation still makes it intense and urgent
Fantastic stuff
Reminder that according to Hummie Mann in his 20th anniversary blu-ray interview, his intention when scoring TATMR was to not play down the kids with the music
And he 100% delivered
I was watching TATMR for the 8,743rd time and this part in the chase is probably one of the best parts of the score for the film. Hummie Mann was absolutely COOKING 🔥🔥🔥
The fact this is the only material we have that gives us a rough idea how the 1953 Sad Story of Henry visually looked and it doesn't even feature the title character is hilarious
Rewatched BMM for the first time in quite a while
Yeah, it's still incredible, almost everything about it is perfect
Like man the scene where Luke and Victor finally meet properly is just wonderful
As i've been listening to them again, here's a new translation from the German Audiobooks, this time from their adaption of Coal.
An extention of the cab conversation, with Topham and Henry's fireman accidently insulting Henry behind his back.
A really cute scene between Toby and Henritta from the german audiobooks, from their adaption of Dirty Objects.
Even here they have that old married couple dynamic.
According to this recent interview with former Thomas writer Lee Pressman, his first (and only model series) episode for the show, Gordon and Spencer, was a nightmare to write cause of executives constantly asking him to make changes
FULL INTERVIEW DOWN BELLOW
Something i found very interesting about the S5 rushes is that sometimes you have these moments where they weren't actually filming a shot for the episode or were setting things up for one but the camera was still rolling
Everyone always quoting Alfred's scenes from NWR Origins yet never talk about DarthWill3's phenomenal performance
That is the sound of someone who has just completely lost it
As it was Hero Of The Rails' 15th anniversary two days ago
Time to give a shout out to the legendary Go, Go Thomas!
THE song i think off when i hear CGI Thomas
I noticed that the longer AEG goes on, the more it seems to be shifting back to typical Thomas things
The characters no longer call themselves trains and now say engines, there is more focus on technical details of how engines work and now STH is actually seen as the controller
So i understand Hit Entertainment doesn't exist anymore but how did Robert Hartshorne get away with composing three different variants of the company's logo jingle and sell it as stock music
I think this scene here really showcases Keith's talent and range
He plays all three characters here yet they're voices are distinct and it doesn't feel like it's the same guy talking to himself but three different individuals
Christopher Awdry writing a trilogy explaining how Diesel came up with his nicknames in Duck And The Diesel Engine has to be one of my favourite things he did for the annuals
Series 5 promos just hit different
There's just something about their colors and lighting that make them look a lot more real than the model series ever did
