Seeing stores say they will charge upwards of $30-$35 for a draft with Play Boosters, when the cost for 3 packs + 1.5 in price/player is $15 feels grimey just to read.

This getting 3.4k likes is insane to me because there are some of the most incoherrent thoughts in here that I have ever read.
I've been playing Magic for more than half my life, and it really hurts that the game apparently has nothing interesting left to say or do. I don't really blame the designers or artists, some of whom I've met in person and are wonderful people. It's a much larger problem to me.

3) Don't use foils
4) Practice shuffling
Do these things and you eliminate a lot of easy warnings and game losses you might get.

Go look at coaching rates for tennis or golf or anything else. People, especially experts expect to be paid for their time

Best part of the "buy Singles not sealed" tweets is if no one buys the sealed, there are no singles to buy
Commander Masters is a tremendous “buy singles” set. There are plenty $20+ cards which are high due to scarcity. This set will bring them down as intended. I caution buying sealed unless drafting; the value from CMM packs could end up like a rug being pulled out from under you.

It is far better for each deck to have 5 $8-$10 reprint cards than it is for the deck to have 1 $40-$50 reprint.
Value is more spread out, 1 deck won't go MIA and there is a better chance to gain more value with 5 cards going up instead of just 1
