Formula 1 Drivers Face Tougher Penalties from the FIA To maintain public morality, the FIA has made significant changes. The general use of language (verbal or written), gestures, and/or signs that are offensive, rude, inappropriate, etc., or that could be interpreted as such, will now be punishable by heavy fines, with the first offence starting at €10,000, under Article 12.2.1 of the sporting regulations. However, fines for F1 drivers will be four times higher, and the severity of subsequent offences will increase dramatically. Among the penalties are: Level 1: €10,000 (four times for Formula One drivers) €20,000 for Level 2 (Repeat Offence) (x4 for Formula One drivers) + A one-month licence suspension €30,000 for Level Expert (Third Offence) (x4 for Formula One drivers) + loss of points for the championship #FIA #F1 #Formula1
