With his decision to leave the ring, Lennox became just the third boxer to retire as world heavyweight champion. Best in the world as a junior, an Olympic champion and world heavyweight champion, there was clearly nothing left to prove. Lennox Lewis was awarded the @orderofsport & inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. #OnThisDay in 1932, dogsled racing was featured as an exhibition event at the Olympic Games! The demonstration race at the Lake Placid Olympic Games was won by Manitoba’s Emile St. Godard, cementing him as one of the most dominant dogsled racers in the world. Emile St. Godard was awarded the Order of Sport and inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1956. He was the first and remains the only Hall of Famer inducted for the sport of dogsled racing. 📷: Order of Sport Collection, @canmushistory
