Something you should consider when mixing is the neo-phasing that can occur under midi integration. Most soft synths come with a built in unison chamber (mostly particle based as far as Iโm aware) so bare that in mind. Iโd generally recommend you opt for a cyclical routing system

Itโs not that complex. With the rise of synthesised and computer music, everything is perfectly in key. So any inconsistency in a vocal is noticeable. So you record with tuning on, and singing into tuning requires a certain level of experience to have it sound the way you like.

And also, when recording into tuning, you arenโt hearing your raw vocal. Youโre only hearing the effect the software has on it, so you adjust accordingly to what comes out of the software. And surprise, sometimes the raw vocal doesnโt sound perfect as a result.
