@IanCameron23 @Abramjee @SAPoliceService We must get the National Commissioner to review the SAPS Disciplinary Regulations to provide for immediate suspension from duty as soon as the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) decides to criminally charge a police officer. It boggles the mind as to why this is happening. Ta!

We congratulate the @SAPoliceService for the swift arrests of persons responsible for the torching of 51 Putco buses in the Moloto corridor. Let’s hope the investigation will be thorough. The punishment must fit the magnitude of the crime. This insane lawlessness must end. Ta!

@Abramjee @SAPoliceService @AthlendaM I became a police officer shortly after my 19th birthday. I have served MECs and Ministers of Police over the years. There have been many capable National Spokespersons for the @SAPoliceService in the past. But Brigadier Mathe stands much taller. Many congratulations, Brig. Ta!

@SAPoliceService This is absolutely beautiful to watch. The National Commissioner should consider introducing inter-provincial drill competitions to encourage officer fitness and to reignite SA’s pride in her national police service. I joined the Service, in part, because I loved the drill. Ta!

@TheRealClementM The President and the ANC are themselves also new to coalition government. They are used to an ANC majority government for the last 30 years where there was never a need for them to consult anyone on the bills they sign into law. They are now a 40% party, with GNU partners. Ta!

@sziks @ANCParliament Khuze!! This attitude of yours and others is not going to assist you or the President. The ANC must accept, in both word and deed, that it is no longer the “ruling” party. It was rejected by 60% of SA’ns in the 2024 NPE. Consultation with GNU partners is key for its success. Ta!

@Senzo_Mchunu_ @SAPoliceService We thank you, Minister, for continuing this great tradition of recognising the men and women in blue who go beyond just the call of duty to serve. Policing is a thankless job. As a trained police officer, I know how important it is to be told you’ve done your country proud. Ta!

The Police Inspectorate in the @SAPoliceService should be understood within the context of an internal audit unit in a government department. It inspects the Service and makes recommendations to the National Commissioner. It’s unwise to dismantle such an important division. Ta!

@Abramjee The question is where is the @SAPoliceService, the Tshwane metropolitan police department, the Gauteng Traffic Police and the RTMC’s National Traffic Police when all this is happening? Panyaza Lesufi even bought helicopters. No police accountability, no public safety. Period. Ta!

@helenzille We are dealing here with a populist propelled by an elasticated ambition for higher political office in the ANC. He has such an insatiable love for power that he now serves as both Premier and MEC for Community Safety in Gauteng. Thankfully, the electorate is getting wiser. Ta!

@Abramjee Whilst we applaud the arrests that have been made by the @SAPoliceService for Colonel Piet Pretorius’ murder, we must state, without fear, that the SAPS has failed Colonel Pretorius like they failed Colonel Charl Kinnear. It’s time for some accountability. Heads must roll. Ta!

@IanCameron23 This decision, if true, only confirms the contemptuous attitude of SAPS management towards oversight. I have served in the Civilian Secretariat. I know that the Police Inspectorate has always been the dumping ground for “unwanted” police officers. So, I am not surprised. Ta!

@bonglez That’s what a toxic combination of incompetence and populism does. What’s encouraging, though, is that the people of Gauteng are smart enough to know they deserve a government that truly cares and serves. In the end, they will liberate themselves from this ANC incompetence. Ta!

@MbekezeliMB It’s strange that you seem to have concluded that these 78 deaths were preventable. I wonder how you arrived at that conclusion before post-mortem examinations are conducted to determine the actual cause of each death. Some could well have been killed underground. Let’s wait. Ta!

@Newzroom405 @naledimoleo Greetings, Naledi. The evidence points to the contrary. Looking at the number of schools and other public facilities built in Khayelitsha, it is clear the DA government in the WC really cares. Let’s remember that many people in the WC have migrated from failed ANC provinces. Ta!

@Face_theNation @Mfundo_Mabalane Greetings, Mfundo!! Today’s High Court judgement is a resounding victory for democratic accountability in SA. It sends a strong message to ANC politicians that they do not have an automatic right or entitlement to bodyguards at the expense of the taxpayer. Well done to the DA!!
