It's a little late, but we finally got the opportunity for our year 2 students to take soil samples from our athletic fields. We will send these off and students will get the opportunity to develop a fertility plan. Thanks to @RegalChemical for the sampling bucket.

Starting the new year off right in our year 2 horticulture class. Began seedlings for our @TowerGarden and started a plant propagation experiment. Students took fig cuttings and will compare the effectiveness of different growing mediums in an attempt to create viable transplants

Our upper level classes got a chance to learn the art hedge trimming. These shrubs are being taken out soon for a track remodeling project leaving us the perfect opportunity to try some different tools. Great opportunity for them to "explore the space" as @BusekTim would say.

Good start to the week. Our horticulture students provided our culinary department with some fresh greens from our Tower Garden. Our upper level turf students got hands on back lapping our reel mowers.

Our students had a great experience @RegalChemical yesterday. Had the opportunity to see a wide variety of services they offer the turf industry & got a behind the scene look of their operations. Even got to create a custom blend fertilizer big thanks to our host @JohnHaguewood
