More and more I cannot see why we are begged to vote for, then allow & pay unfit people to control our democracy, our finances, our infrastructure, our very lives on our behalf & then ride roughshod over us while we do all the hard work.
It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
I shall vote
@LibDems
(presumably
@WillForster
?) in
#Woking
because they have the best chance of beating the Tory Party otherwise I would have, for the first time in my life and as an ex-Conservative member of over 50 years, voted
@UKLabour
Always remember, inform as many people as you can:
“WHAT” EU is is a 100% successful peace project;
“HOW” is through working together, trading, sharing, being one. It’s not perfect, it’s bureaucratic, a work in progress:
Compared with war there’s no comparison
@MartynHobbins
politicians basically put themselves forward to work for us: Our vote is their job interview. After that we have no performance review until the next election other than the few decent journalists/interviewers such as Charlie Stayt.
You should thank him on your behalf
The moment we’ve been waiting for for 14 years is very close. There’s going to be a Labour government very soon.
They won’t be perfect but there won’t be any comparisons with the current horror parade.
I can’t vote as I’m Italian. Please vote for me. Vote tactically and 🤞
An eagle-eyed viewer spots another oddity from Penny Mordaunt's campaign video.
Shot of nurses overlayed with voiceover praising "our greatest heroes" appears to be from a Madrid hospital, judging by logo in the top right-hand corner.
Brilliant: California complete indefinite lock down;
Malaysia troops out;
Italy Spain lock down;
UK changing of the guard cancelled.
Fuck me the British are tough . .
and stupid
What pisses me off is when someone really unpleasant uses our democratic processes that so many have fought for and many died for, to impose their will on us
Ok if some wonder, I might occasionally be very active on Twitter
but I’m actually very very shy. I don’t want to meet face to face with all but a very few and now I’m walking away from Twitter for a short while just to have a break.
Take care y”all
Many extremely successful people are not tough assertive.
Successful managers and leaders lead through enthusiasm humour praise The conservative politicians lead through fear intimidation like old style army generals.
Their statement gives them away
CONSERVATIVES CLOSE RANKS
“Priti Patel has been defended as a "tough, assertive" leader who has "never crossed a line" by nearly 100 allies”
One common factor ... none of them were present when any of the alleged incidents took place.
Think about that for a moment folks...
First time I tasted pineapple was on our way out to Australia 1955 SS Strathmore I was 11 bought one off a “bumboat” in Columbo harbour Ceylon in those days now Sri Lanka. I’m actually fairly indifferent about them.
😇HAPPY INTERNATIONAL😇
😇😇ANGELMAN DAY 😇😇
A day observed annually on the 15th FEB primarily to raise awareness for Angelman syndrome. The date selected is in recognition of the 15th chromosome affected, and February is international Rare Disease month
#AngelmanSyndrome
It's as if the entire country has been put in a huge pot and brought to the boil: All the scum has risen to the surface.
Isn't this the perfect opportunity to skim it off ?
The Home Office's latest manoeuvre in the Windrush affair - basically to deny any responsibility and refuse to help - is no less sickening and cruel than the rest of what this government does every day. I am ashamed of my own country, angry and ashamed.
Of all the privatisation ( was project manager London Electricity privatisation) water made absolutely no sense whatsoever since there is no customer choice for suppler. The others turned out to merely be Thatcher’s logic on a false premise but destroyed national infrastructure
Good Morning
Tory Miracles

Botched privatisation and inadequate Regulation of water supplier, coupled with corporate greed, results in liquidity crisis.
I have Aspergers.
Diagnosed.
It’s my strength.
Don’t dare refer to having a more advanced mental operating system as a disorder.
I love really bright light.
I love sound.
However I can’t bear peoples’ voices gabbling on and on and on especially TV/radio about football.
“FUCK OFF”
Just heard on
@BBCr4today
business section that video conferencing services are in HUGE demand. Does anyone really think mass commuting and travel to physical meetings will ever be the same again in a post
#coronavirus
world.
#hs2
will be totally unnecessary.
Drunk on power,
@BorisJohnson
sullied, despoiled and eroded the idea of public duty the moment he stepped through the door of No.10
He must go
But the length of time it took Ministers to act, means big questions about the future of
@Conservatives
We need a General Election
@PoliticsPollss
@snibs14
These polls are strange but most employers have had random drug testing as a policy for years. So why not MPs. Throw in the no alcohol during working times, Throw in timed lunch and tea breaks like in the real world.
We’re led to believe the UK’s broke, yet ‘limitless’ billions for foreign ‘wars’ which, history tells us has made matters worse in the Middle East.
Failed Tory MP & ex-PM David Cameron elevated to undemocratic House of Lords now in charge of foreign affairs.
#BBClauraK
Thought for the day. Our lives are like waves. We swell up, reach our peak as the water breaks and then slowly fade down until we are no more. But we are all part of the bigger one. Whatever that is. We come from it and go back to it. Obviously the sea has made me slightly mad!
And what an unassuming and nice guy Steve is.
Recognition for work against the national harm that is exiciting the European union.: People's knighthood for Steve Bray - Sign the Petition! via
@UKChange
I was under the impression that British MPs already had some sort of a fairly well paid job that took a good deal of time and effort to perform properly ?
The world's two largest democracies, Brazil and the US have both rejected fascism and the far right in the past fortnight. That's absolutely marvellous!
You are still worrying about other peoples’ reactions and expectations when you are one of the elite who are capable of far greater things than any of them
Noting ppl’s voice change when they talk to you. Noticing ppl becoming quiet around you when others left the room. Noticing times ppl said, ‘Bless your heart…’ when you asked questions. Knowing ppl felt uncomfortable around you but learning to be oblivious to it. You see now.
Everyone needs reminding that after 10 years of a Tory Government:
Child poverty + 50%
Food-bank use + 1,000%
Homelessness + 170%
NHS waiting list + 70%
Police numbers - 20%
Crime + 30%
Local gov funding - 50%
Public sector pay - 15%
Never forget how cruel they are.
This has become one of the most disgusting episodes in modern British democracy demonstrating what the
@Conservatives
have become - no longer any semblance of a democratic political party which stands for what it claims - should be proscribed:
I voted Tory for 50 years
I’m voting tactically: In Woking, a very Conservative versus
@LibDems
constituency, the latter are the best option with the excellent
@WillForster
who actually is local for once !
Thatcher convinced people privatisation of national services was way to improve them when real problem was inefficient bureaucratic way civil service runs business:
Now we pay shareholders not reinvest.
Who am I to say?
I was project manager London Electricity I.T. Demand side.
It's not you, it's all the others : It's their expectations of you.
Remind yourself it’s your life and it’s probably all you have.
You owe it to no one and only have responsibility to yourself to look after it.
I like me a whole lot. It’s just hard when others don’t. I wish I could tell them why I am like this. But I can’t. Society has not yet made it socially acceptable to say, It’s the trauma and autism. Please be understanding. It’s literally not even safe to say this.
Good news. Boris Johnson and Prince Charles will soon be immune, and able to return to the intensive care front line. There they will be able to share their expertise on how they managed to get tested.
I hope
@libdems
overtake Tories : If all opposition joins together to proscribe Conservative Party it’ll be a new dawn for real progress democracy freedom for Britain: Then remove much if not all the monarchy so UK becomes U : Maybe split the Union too :
End of Establishment
Ha!
The process of Tory party disintegration continues apace...
So farewell then
Nadhim Zahawi - remembered less for his brief tenure as Chancellor than for the taxpayer funding of his heated stables - is to stand down at the GE.
I do not lament his going.
How do you turn a successful industrial Western democracy into a 3rd world country?
You destroy the various infrastructure (public / economic / education / transport) & plunder the bits as they crash
migrate with your new-found wealth to a tax haven:
It's called neoliberalism
There are problems in some places - mostly caused by Government (so Hancock can STFU). Peope are on the Tube because Govt didnt tell work to shut down, on beach/in park because Govt said get exercise, in shops because Govt said self-isolate.
Prof Brian Cox has just said on live TV, that the UK has lost £100m in collaborative scientific research funding, partly because of Brexit and also because of a lack of trust in the UK.
The entitlement of some people. Sat down on a public bench on the Southbank with a drink and to rest my feet, and a woman told me to move as she had 'reserved' the bench for her and her friends. Reader, I did not move. 20 mins later the friends are still not here 🙄
Sainsbury's appear to be in denial: Spreading junk all over their stores and shelves to make it appear as if they have no shortage: I walked around a store today to help a friend shop there: Couldn't find anything much where expected. Of course they are Conservative supporters
Waitrose online are apologising for many of their usual products not being in stock, for the foreseeable it seems. These Brexit shortages are real and will not just, as in shopping with Waitrose, limit people’s ‘choices’ of grocery products, but limit people’s livelihoods &lives.
Divorced, funnily enough sharing a house with my ex (separate bedrooms, my desk is in my bedroom) and she's currently sitting on my bed showing me various Facebook photos of elephants
online regional chambers all representatives must live in community / constituency;
No travelling to speak;
HoP in central location midlands?
No more MPs strictly laid down Representatives rules;
PR
Compulsory voting, 25% seats stand for election each year.
Written constitution
The more I think about it, the more I feel we should start again with Parliament. Have a modern building, electronic voting, office hours, decent childcare, no on-site bars. Governing this country is too important for it to be treated like a 'gentlemen's' club.
I have deactivated my main Twitter account because some people have (and I have allowed them to) become far too intrusive. I shall delete this account as soon as I can find my password.
Thanks for all the fish and good luck y'all
Good bye
It baffles me. Why are the Royals the first item on the tv news when bugger all has happened apart from a couple going shopping. This country is bonkers!
I was about 13 years old, chopping wood in our outside woodstore in Seacliffe South Australia when a redback spider (very poisonous) ran up my arm. We both waited patiently until she? dropped off - phew but I dared not move. I had only been in Australia for about 2 years then.
there was a cafe society in Vienna !
sure there still is because I lived there but ...
Not sure whether to send this but you'll get my drift DN even if others don't
It helps to live in a "cafe society" like France or Serbia. People go to the cafe to drink their coffee and have their croissant, read the paper and then they start discussing politics and maybe a bit of football with friends or others in the cafe. I miss that a lot here!
Most important group who should be protected at all costs even before NHS:Those maintaining power services.
Electricity failure etc with none to fix in timely manner:
Ruined food even when many shops have standby
& food destroyed in home freezers.
How then self isolate?
Life
is all we've got :
Surely there can be no greater crime
than someone
in whom we've placed our trust by voting for them to represent us in Parliament
betraying that trust by sacrificing our life, our all ?
My ability to communicate with and get results from the Universe amaze me:
I’ve been concerned about the lack of insects and have been answered:
Humanity is saved: Looks like there’s a wasps’ nest in the loft !
