Putting aside the balant scientific inaccuracy of there being only male and female sexes, or that anyone is "male" at conception π... Just a note to my LGBTQ+ following (especially the non-binary and trans community) that you will ALWAYS be welcome within this following space.
Under Trump's executive order, every single person in America is now legally classified as female. All embryos begin by developing female sex organs, with male sex organs only replacing them at around 6 weeks of gestation.

I'm not religious, but I'm pretty sure the Inauguration Day sermon we saw was as close to delivering a pure message from God of just kindness, empathy and human decency, as possible. And I'll listen to those teachings any day.
If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have deeply, deeply misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

There are worse views at 7am... the Christmas clouds and snow are clearing a little down here. Volcanic rocks, a penguin colony, and still water make for a good morning of boat driving ππΌπ©΅ #Antractica #Antarctic #photography #naturephotography #landscape #mountains

π #ScienceAdventCalendar Day 6 (yes, I've fallen behind...) Volcanoes produce a LOT of gas, but still only ~1% of the CO2 produced by human activity. Even the big modern eruptions come nowhere close! Handy @USGSVolcanoes article about π and climate:

π #ScienceAdventCalendar Day 5! The OTHER polar #volcano - Mt Erebus in #Antarctica. This π is one of only a few with an active lava lake in its crater! Technically NOT on Antarctica (Ross Island), this is the southernmost active volcano. πΈ: @NatGeo and @SmithsonianGVP

π #ScienceAdventCalendar Day 4! Did you know Norway has its own active π? Beerenberg volcano, Jan Mayen island in the Arctic Ocean, last erupted in the 1980s. There's no permanent population, and the is the world's most northern active volcano on land! πΈ: @SmithsonianGVP

SCIENCE ADVENT CALENDAR Day 2: The tallest point on Earth is a π- Mt Chimborazo in Ecuador (NOT Mt Everest or Mauna Kea). Reason: The Earth bulges at the Equator (where Chimborazo is), so it is "technically" the furthest point from Earth's center. πΈ: @SmithsonianGVP and NOAA
