@TomSpengler I’m much more coordinated on skis than anywhere else. It’s a genetic fluke. Caden is just a good athlete all around. That comes from mom. :)

If you want to know how well government will do regulating AI, just look at how great a job it did regulating social media.

I used to ski race. It’s intense and unforgiving. I learned 3 things: 1. Enjoy process. Failures are frequent Gratification may be delayed forever. 2. Enjoy the wins. Celebrate when something works out. 3. Celebrate others. Being happy when your friend wins feels great.

@SteveSubera @unstadj It seems like a cleanse and dry January are both needed to complete this cliché.

@unstadj @BradSchaeppi Reading this article was infuriating. Does anyone know how damn hard it is to comply with so many forms and rules? Small business owners need to be working on their biz not dealing with government. Government should be setup to help employers build and hire.

@unstadj @BradSchaeppi Yep. Even GOP side cultivates candidates with very little real experience. Worse on dem side.

Three things that work best for me as a father: -1:1 time where kids understand clearly how much I like and appreciate them -Encouraging kids to double down on passions, interests, and friendships. (Bonus is this helps keep them off social media.) -Praising hard work not results

Our public engagement process is completely broken and defaults to killing every good idea. While not a perfect solution, local officials need to make more final decisions more efficiently and then be held accountable if they have bad judgement.

First study was in 1998. I think 27 years of study and public engagement is a good start but might’nt we aim for an even 50-100+ years? A solid century of talk would do us better, no?

@zacharywefel We definitely get to enjoy the consequences. The structural advantages of incumbency, tenure-based leadership positions, name recognition and long-term fundraising shut the door to many ambitious people who have other options in their life leaving us with a lot of seniors.
