We have confirmed with Tooele Army Depot that they are performing detonations today and believe that to be the source. The detonations are part of TAD's routine operations to dispose of expired military munitions.

is 89%. Tunnel Springs Park & Ensign Peak Trailhead reopen 8PM tonight. Bonneville Shoreline Trail section remains closed. City Creek Canyon Rd to site 16 opens tomorrow for the holiday, but closes Thur for construction on the Water Treatment Plant.
The perimeter of the

held after being tested by winds and high temperatures for two days. Containment as of this morning remains at 82% at 204 acres.
Trail closures remain in effect as of now, but are being reassessed to provide access for the July 24th holiday.

remains 204 acres and 10% contained. Heat was visible overnight, but night shift saw no fire movement. Residents were allowed back. The area is closed to non-residents for traffic. Crews continue to secure the perimeter and hopefully gain more containment tonight

Existing firelines continue to hold on the
#SandhurstFire
. Just because active flames or smoke isn't visible doesn't mean there isn't still fire or heat. Help firefighters by staying away, avoid roads, and stay off trails near the fire area to avoid impacting suppression efforts.
A morning flight provided official acreage for the
#SandhurstFire
at 204 acres. This is more accurate mapping, thanks to aerial GPS support, vs previous estimates.
Despite rumors, the cause is still under investigation. No cause has been determined or released by authorities.

is mapped approx. 400 acres and 0% contained. Mandatory evacuations remain in place (see

). Crews worked perimeter overnight and saw little growth. Northern Utah Type 3 Incident Management Team took command of the fire. No structure damage currently reported.

🔥is est. 200 acres & burning active Firefighters will work through the night w/ structure protection in place. Northern Utah type 3 team is transitioning with the initial attack resources. Est. 20 homes are evacuated. Air resources will return in the morning.
