Was this the first time the concept of dirt naps has been mentioned in the show? Did Louis know about it? Seems they thought starvation could kill a vampire. At least this makes it clear Lestat took a nap sometime before going to America, since the Rogets know it.

This is devastating. Marc’s combination of sarcasm & empathy was a rare gift. He completely understood the complexity, humor, & pathos of the Vampire Chronicles. I hope he’s now hanging out w all the vampires lost to us on earth, but who will be immortal somewhere else forever.
It is with a heavy heart that we make this post. On April 2, 2024 VI cohost Marc Snediker passed away. Marc was an integral part of our podcast and he will be missed. He was intelligent, witty and such a funny person. He has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.

Question: In Dubai, why does Daniel never ask where Lestat is in 2022? He notes Lestat singing Come to Me, he spends days talking about him w Louis, he calls BS on Louis “killing” him. But not once does the award-winning investigative journalist say “So where is Lestat now?”

(1) Armand/Daniel also have a past in the book, aka Devil's Minion. We don’t know how it factors into the show timeline, but I think it DID happen & Armand has lingering love for Daniel even if he resents him (IMO bc Daniel left Armand after begging him to wipe his memory). 5/14

If you really want to feel sad, listen here where Jacob says that after filming wrapped on S2 he had to scatter some stones, some of Louis’s “ashes” (not literally, don’t worry) so that he could shed Louis and his emotional weight for a bit.
And the stones aren’t in his feet. They’re embedded in his ankle tendons so every time he uses his feet he feels pain. Louis’s self-flagellating Catholic guilt hasn’t manifested as a conventional bleeding or a hair shirt. Instead, he literally walks around w it under his skin. 🥺

The Twins are from Nineveh. Akasha is from Uruk, Mesopotamia in today’s Iraq (Queen of the Damned). The Assyrian reference could be long-term hinting at Akasha & that her realm of destruction is coming (in Season 3) bc her people WERE Assyrians (or from neighboring areas)!

(1) …wouldn't notice Armand observing from the shadows. Or so Armand/Louis had planned. But Daniel noticed everything. And Armand was always a theatre director not an innate actor good at pretending. He inevitably dropped the act, took off the masks, & revealed himself. 4/14

Yes! I also think that if Lestat is like he was in the books he sort of took precautions after he was first turned and met Roget. But after he read Roget’s mind & Roget seemed to be ok w Lestat being supernatural somehow, Les stopped hiding it esp as the decades/centuries passed.

(2) Q: Why does Louis want another interview? A: HE NEEDS DANIEL TO REMEMBER something from 1973 that Daniel has forgotten & that neither Louis nor Armand can recall. So they think provoking Daniel’s past will spark memories & “have him saying what happened next in no time.” 8/14

Petty & cruel? That’s not how I read it at all. It shows he’s protective & vengeful to those who disrespect/demonize the ones he loves, including himself. It’s a show of power that to me, is foreshadowing of what he will do in future episodes.

4) SPOILERS Armand wants to be near to protect Louis against other vampires. It’s not just Louis publishing a book of vamp existence that’s dangerous. In Ep8 he’ll destroy the Paris coven, a death-sentence crime. Armand yells in Ep5: “We don’t have enough to fear from Paris?” 7/8

(2) But Daniel is no longer Armand’s minion or his & Louis’s “boy.” Daniel won back his sanity after years of being immersed in trauma & then battling his past. He may not (yet) remember everything from his 1st interview with a vampire but he won’t forget his 2nd (& last). 14/14

(1) Daniel became addicted to Armand’s blood & other vices. It took A LOT for Daniel to get sober. A huge part of doing so IMO was having Armand erase his memories so he could forget their past & move on w a life free of vampires. But what else was lost from Daniel’s mind? 7/14
