Here are a variety of recent good decks (e.g. decks with Silver Surfer, Nick Fury etc.). Feel free to swap some cards for the cards you love/have. HAVE A FUN HOLIDAY! 🏝️❄️
Here are the latest individual Merc rankings, and some best Merc parties (top 5% rating, all level 30 Mercs, vs AI-games excluded). Enjoy and good night (or morning, or afternoon)! 🙂
Today is my last day at
@PlayHearthstone
/ Blizzard. This is the hardest decision of my life. During my 5.8 years of staying here, I feel honored, humbled and privileged to be able to work with and meet so many incredible people. Co-workers, friends, influencers, community...🧡
Today's Mercenaries PvP win-rate power ranking...we see Jaina gets the crown. (Small note: we have *large* data volume for *each* Mercenary even after the top 5% MMR filter so no need to worry about statistical significance) 🙂
I've made a very tough decision to leave
@seconddinner
for a new adventure of creating fun games. I'm grateful for being part of the team — we launched
@MARVELSNAP
and witnessed it receive numerous awards. Look forward to the future success of SD. Thanks y'all and see you soon!
Want to level up your Mercs for the current PvP meta? Here is the newest top 15 win-rate Mercs for 21.6.1 patch with their corresponding equipment and ability tiers. Enjoy! 🙂
Here are some good High Evolutionary decks. 🧬
(Edit: re-post these deck pictures and removed the previous thread, which was generated from one of my old test versions of deck builder. Thanks!)
Today marks my 1-year anniversary
@seconddinner
. I'm happy being able to work with many talented, open-minded, and nice people here, as well as enjoying making
@MARVELSNAP
fun and awesome together! Looking forward to the second year! 🥟
Share three good
@MarvelSnap
decks in terms of both cube gain rate and win-rate in the current meta (top 15% MMR) in Beta. These are not centroids so you could swap a few cards and they could still be pretty good. ⭐️
1. Data shows Nagrand Slam is the best card in std Mage right now; 2. To nerf Spell Mage we are going to buff Nagrand Slam to 9 mana so players won’t easily get it from Deck of Lunacy. (Joking on the second part)
In case you are looking for some good cards to be put in your starting
@MarvelSnap
deck, here are three of them from our previous internal playtest data (disclaimer: meta may change! :P ).
Deck Builder, Albums, and New Emotes — Say hello to the latest features added in this month's MARVEL SNAP update.
To help get you started with Deck Builder in as little as four easy steps, check out our mini guide!
May season: Played a bunch personally during off-work hours and reached highest rank tier in Marvel Snap and Hearthstone (Standard + Wild + Classic). Love card games. Decks I used are in the thread. 🧶
Battlegrounds seasonal external rating reset and internal rating renormalization + high/low end rating clipping will also happen in 20.2. We are planning to add rating floors and protection zone back with algorithm update to prevent system exploitation behavior such as tanking.
Launch week's Mercenaries PvP external rating (at least 5 games played):
2100 -- top 50%
2600 -- top 40%
3500 -- top 30%
4500 -- top 20%
5100 -- top 10%
5600 -- top 5%
6400 -- top 1%
We check PvP stats from time to time and may or may not tune things in the future.
To me, Hearthstone has always been my life and love, so today is a really sad day for me. Don't be wrong - I truly believe it has a bright future. Of course I'll still play HS -- but this time, I'll just be a happy fan, rather than a dev. Cheers! See y'all in the Tavern! 😀
Here are two deck-archetypes (from unsupervised learning on data of top 15% MMR players) that have an edge over KaZar-Zoo decks. Have a great weekend! 🙂
Thank you all for the feedback. We are planning to make a Merc PvP matchmaking algorithm change for very high rating players (~top 1%), so that rating plays much more important role in match-building and post-game rating updates, compared to others such as levels, abilities, etc.
We are starting to see folks experiment successfully with Miles Morales - here are some good
@MarvelSnap
decks with Miles Morales in terms of win-rate and cube gain rate from recent data. Enjoy! 🕷️
Retreat is a good
@MarvelSnap
skill. Here is a table when you may want to consider retreat at different future-current stake ratios (final stake divided by current stake) situations. Note your cool mind games could change these probabilities! 😉
Thanks to
@seconddinner
-- got to pick one favorite artwork printed as personal metal poster. Thought long and hard among tons of options and picked this one (enjoyed that What's Up Danger song 🎧).
@MarvelSnap
will be launched globally today! It has been a great journey in beta. Did some caricatures for some of my F&F list friends occasionally since June to thank the feedbacks, also as a casual hobby. (P.S. not an artist myself - coloring etc. are amateur. Personal post.)
Reached highest MMR score in
@MarvelSnap
beta leaderboard and also Legend rank in
@PlayHearthstone
at the same time in this June season. Guess I am not bad at card games. 😀
I am happy for working on this with an awesome team! Super excited for the cool journey ahead — the fastest card game in the multiverse (I may post some best meta decks in the future 😋)
Thank you all for the kind words -- I really appreciate it and it really means a lot to me! 😭 Since there are some offline asking for updates, my next adventure will be
@seconddinner
with some old and new friends doing some fun Marvel games.
[Friday Random Post] As I have been seeing confusion and misunderstanding about "data-related" job titles, here is the analogy of each title to deck type(s)...also we have openings for each of them in case you are interested in applying:
@Joe_Psycho_HS
Try this one: Captain Marvel, Cloak, Doctor Strange, Heimdall, Human Torch, Iron Fist, Ironheart, Kraven, Miles Morales, Multiple Man, Nightcrawler, Vulture
Bigger chance to win by going first in the current ranked standard meta? Data says: Secret Paladin — yep; Aggro Hunter — yep; Token-Spell Druid — nope; Spell Mage — yep; All sorts of Priest — it doesn’t matter too much. 🎲
PvP will be a very important part of Mercenaries. In order to ensure fair matches, the new game mode comes with the most complex matchmaking system in Hearthstone. Lead Data Scientist

explains how it works in a blog post. Check it out:
@ottersHS
I don't have detailed numbers at hand as I don't have easy access to company VPN right now, but I checked earlier today the highest win-rate ones are Questline Warlock, Even Warlock, Even Hunter, Aggro-Shadow Priest and Celestial Druid (order might be different).
Was reorganizing my shelves today and saw this trophy I got from winning the internal Battlegrounds competition when it’s just launched in beta (it has a pig symbol on it as BG’s dev code name was “Bacon”). The best part is
@mike_donais
signed “F**K YA! - MD” on it for me 🤩
@jrhsk8
For wild I don't have that level of detail at hand currently, but the top 5 win-rate decks currently are: Even Warlock, Odd Questline Hunter, Even Hunter, Questline Warlock, Aggro Shadow Priest.
@PascoaHS
@RaneTDF
@emiper3z
You are right — the change was already made in the backend, but it would likely go with 21.4.3, which will be sometime early-mid this week (not live yet).
@DeraJN
Yeah we made an update today that makes the MMR of high level player (~top 10K) to a lower value during the matchmaking phase after certain amount of waiting time (without actually "changing" the MMR during the post-game updating phase).
@m4rtim47
Thanks for the feedback. We are adjusting matchmaking things and have some plans already. It’s company holiday for entire next week so it will be there later.
@DeraJN
Going forward, at the start of the new season next week, we will perform a MMR renormalization to every player. Note that this is different from "reset". Its purpose is to pull the MMR distribution to a "nice bell-shaped" curve.
🚨 JOB ALERT 🚨
Last week we announced our first game
@MarvelSnap
and celebrated our fourth b-day as a studio (technically our 2nd.. 2nd bday?).
This week we're growing... Join us!

There are quite a few decks has >50% win-rate and positive cube gain rate when against Hela decks. For example, Ongoing decks, Mr Negative decks, Wave decks etc.
@alysononfire
We are having constant balance meetings within one week after every major patch now, thus very likely we will deliver balance changes much more frequent than the previous nova-moongirl-dino one in the future if necessary.
@Marshall_Power
I had been using this Devil Dino deck: (1) Agent 13, (1) Nightcrawler, (1) Quinjet, (2) Armor, (2) Maria Hill, (2) Sentinel, (3) Mystique, (3) Cosmo, (3) Agent Coulson, (4) Moon Girl, (4) White Queen, (5) Devil Dinosaur

The reset makes the highest internal MMR 8k. If your internal rating is above 8k your rating will be dropped below 8k unless it's above the cutoff value, which is ~15k for this time (also this value is a bit different server region to server region) -- if so you'll be at 8k.
@DipalmaDevin
These decks were selected based on recent data with relatively high win-rate/cube gain-rate, among players in the highest matchmaking collections score band, top 10% MMR.
@pocky_plays
High end is at 8k. Low end is at 0. Renormalization is basically a re-map of the internal rating to a bell-shaped curve -- such map of each region is a bit different as the distribution is not the same. For example, NA 8k this season will be roughly at 6k internally.

If you want to have Punisher in the deck, try this one: AntMan, CaptainAmerica, Colossus, Cosmo, IronMan, Klaw, Lizard, MrFantastic,Namor, Punisher, Spectrum, Warpath
@Celestalon
Haha tbh Agatha is a horrible card in terms of win-rate, but if you have to put her in the deck try this one: [Hellcow,LadySif,Infinaut,Jubilee,Hela,RedSkull,CaptainMarvel,DoctorOctopus,EbonyMaw,Wolverine,AgathaHarkness,Aero]
