@ZahraniShorouq Why isn't the comprehensible input idea applied in all schools? The business community has not figured out a way of profiting from it.

@DanielPinkwater @Ldixon7 I saw him on an airplane. I was tempted to say something, but just being on the same plane is a false karass.

Many activities that help us ACQUIRE (absorb) language are activities many of us like to do, e.g. read for pleasure. But not many of us like studying grammar, (“LEARNING”) & it results in knowledge that hard to understand & use.

@plthomasEdD Paul, It's not about improving literacy. It's about profit. Making the rich richer. New text books and worksheets, more seminars, etc. It always "works."

642 people “liked” this post on twitter today: “Language acquisition does not require extensive use of conscious grammatical rules and does not require tedious drill.” I wonder how many people disagree….

The first time President Obama met with his US Attorneys, he told us, “I appointed you but you don’t serve me. You serve the American people. And I expect you to act with independence & integrity.” None of us ever forgot that. Joyce Alene (University of Alabama Law Professor)

@NancyEBailey1 Too often, "intensive instruction" means boring drill, trying to consciously LEARN complicated rules and vocabulary. There is evidence that these aspects of language can be ACQUIRED from self-selected pleasure reading & listening to interesting stories.
