Taken my husband to the state hospital today. Through triage in 20 minutes, straight to examination room and on drip. Diagnosed with severe stomach infection, on a ward in 30 minutes. And people call Türkiye a third world country.

Oh how we have fallen. My mum remembers refugees from Eastern Europe staying with her during the war. If Brexit was about going back to those halcyon days then it hasn't. But it wasn't, it triggered xenophobia and hatred.

Mum and Dad were given a 3 bed Council House in Ware in the '50's as they knew they would start a family. I loved growing up there and Mum is still there with the same neighbours 60 years on

I agree. We are a 3rd country here of course. If you live in another country you abide by their rules. I don't drive here, only my electric scooter but I will need a Turkish Driver's License soon as my UK/EU licence isn't valid.

We were evacuated from our village during the fires 2 weeks ago. On a boat, 1 bag and the cat. We didn't know if our home would still be there when we went back. But, we could go back. That was terrifying enough.

Well done! I was on a boat trip a few weeks ago and a typical Brit Abroad was saying he worked as a driver and most of the drivers were 'Polish and can't speak and word of English' When I asked if he could perhaps learn a bit of Polish then? The boat went silent.

Hey, don't I know it. I did a home detox once and I couldn't even lift a glass to take the tablet my hands were shaking so much. In the end, I stopped too soon, ended up with a seizure and hospital. Now 5 years 4 months sober. You can do this!
