It was absolutely the right decision to devote BBC1 to the story for the night. No need to have duplicate coverage on BBC2 or to suspend BBC4. That was OTT.

The reason he dismisses whataboutery is that he knows he'll be caught out. And, he writes for the daily mail, a paper that has advocated policies that have caused misery for millions of people over many decades. (Of course, a different scale but still relevant)
