1. Most of wains work that wasn't for an annual/book/advert isn't dated. We can make educated guesses but we don't know, so there is no evidence that his art "deteriorated" with time

TLDR is louis wains life is really hard to track and understand bc he had few surviving relatives and due to not copyrighting or dating his work, we can't be sure of particular dates 100%. His work is fascinating and beautiful on its own with out having to make shit up
