Yesterday's A+E in-situ sim was a 6 month old rushed in with bronchiolitis with worsening shortness of breath into apnea. The team worked well to support the infants breathing and plan appropriate treatment. @QEMedEducation

Todays A+E in situ Sim was 19y/o male student complaining of a headache and a non-blanching. Patient then suffered a seizure whilst in a+e. The team identified the meningococcal sepsis, supported the seizure and got support from Critical care. @QEMedEducation #simtech

Monday our Clinical Skills Centre hosted the Surgical Skills Competition North East regional heats. The competition involved using eoSIM Laparoscopic Training boxes to perform a number of set tasks within a set time. Well done all involved and those competing. @QEMedEducation

Todays in-situ sim was the maternity unit @Gateshead_NHS utilising our SimMom simulation manikin. Following an elective c-section, the patient was in recovery and started to lose blood. Testing the teams response to a PPh emergency. @QEMedEducation @beccyeggleston1

Todays A+E in-situ sim was a 7 year old child presenting with 2 day history of polyuria, polydipsia, vomiting & abdominal pain. In-situ sims are a great way of testing systems & protocols so that we can provide the best care for our patients @Gateshead_NHS @QEMedEducation
