This recount is not actually accurate. Dr. Drew actually did receive a transfusion. There was actually a NCAT college student who was also in a traumatic accident and physicians refused to give a blood transfusion. Both story’s have gotten merged.

Don’t sell yourself short. Someone will support your ideas and passions. I applied to a research grant and did not get it. Two weeks later, I submitted the same application and was awarded a scholarship for 3x the amount of the original grant. Keep shooting your shot.

According to the lecture I attended, the car accident was fatal, and it was difficult to save him. However, physicians did try because they recognized him. This is still a problematic story because the college student should have also received a blood transfusion as well.
