1st/154 at Kings of Hali 7! I think it's my second C-tier win, and I got wins on NotBrayden (x2), Hanad, and Croi among others. Really enjoyed my time in Halifax and glad to have met many players from the Maritimes. GGs everyone. Next stop is Daddy's Den in Spokane, WA!
5th/196 at the Port Priority Prelocal! Managed to beat Luis and AndresFn, losses against quiK and Peabnut. Hoping to carry over results to the main event, but overall very happy with my play. Thanks to all who have shown support, it's very much appreciated ❤️
In light of my recent ranking and performance last year, I'd like to take the time to put out my player resume. I'm looking for sponsors that can help me push my content or travel presence to the next level. With a few exceptions, this was mostly achieved within 2023 alone. TY!
49th/710 at Port Priority 8. Very happy with my run. I was feeling very focused the whole weekend, racked up good wins (Luis and AndresFn at the prelocal, Chronos and Nessboy at the main event), and took good losses (quiK, Peabnut, Dabuz, Sho). GGs to everyone I played
5th/140 at a B tier. Got wins over Armadillo, Smokk, Saloum, Thorn, and others. I got upset by BIGBIGTTARFAN600 early in bracket, so I had to crawl my way into a top 8 spot. Tough tournament, but lots of fun. Felt nice to get some wins with Pit. GGs to everyone I played
I am happy to announce that I've recently joined
@txhesports
as a player! Looking forward to working together and very appreciative of the opportunity 🙏
TXH Esports is very happy to officially welcome
@silver_cck
to our Smash Ultimate roster!
Silver is a massive addition to our excellent roster of
#Smash
competitors, and we are excited to continue to grow throughout Canada in both competition and content!
Welcome Silver!
1st/60 at Perfect Pivot! Wins over Silver (ON), NadiA, Jams, and Crembu. Really fun event, lots of very close matches. A big thanks to the TOs for putting on the event, and GGs to everyone I played
4th/114 at Lacombe Dome! It was a great tournament, and I got to play some really great players. Losses to Mr. R and Larry Lurr. GGs to my opponents. Now we prepare for Kings of Hali!
Also huge X'avier fan
Little bit of a late post, but 3/62 at the Victoria monthly. Lost to Lemmon and JoJo, beat Artemis and Seesaw. Felt a lot happier with my play for this event and got very close against JoJo, but just came up short. GGs to everyone I played!
7th/188 at Daddy's Den. I felt I was playing well this weekend, and I managed to get wins against Aloha, Charlie D., and Domnique. Losses against Ouch!? and JeJa. Kirby is still my demon lol
First time being ranked in Ultimate! A big thanks to everyone who helped me get to where I am today. The AB unranked dream is dead lol
Congrats to everyone who made the list! There are lots of great players in Alberta, and I look forward to seeing all of you continue to improve.
Genesis X Day 1 started off fairly well! 17th/302 in doubles with Leroy, but got knocked into losers by Yonni in pools. Will have to bear down as much as I can and test myself to push further in the bracket. Resting up and tackling the bracket tomorrow!
2nd place today at Empty Hop. Thanks to STLTS and the TO team for a great event! GGs to everyone I played. Congrats to
@Lemmon_BC
, gonna have to still spend some more time on the Joker matchup. I shall return for revenge 👀
Knocked out by my r1 opponent in a close game 5 set. Two bracket upsets to knock me out, but GGs to everyone I played. I felt very focused during my set, so they beat me at my best. Thanks to everyone who cheered me on, gonna enjoy Genesis and come back stronger next time
Won doubles with
@pinkbombo91
on day 1, gonna try to keep the momentum going today in singles.
One of the streams is here, so check out the event if you get the chance!
17th at Out of Pocket. Placed my seed, but the event definitely has me hungry for more. Going to have to work hard to catch up and leapfrog some of the very strong talent that came out to this event. GGs to everyone I played and thanks to
@samuel9560
for having me out!
New video! This is a vlog from my trip to Manitoba. I thought it'd be pretty neat to start showing what it's like to go to out-of-region events, so I'll try to record more of these:
New video! This one is about improving your advantage state in Ultimate. A lot of people are unsure about how to keep advantageous situations going or how to make the most of them; hopefully this video can clear up some of that!
My next out-of-region trip will be for Kings of Hali 7! This is the first time I'll be in Nova Scotia, so I'm excited to compete. I'll have to do my best to prepare for this event so that I'm at full power!
(1/4) The Game Con Canada weekend is finally over. It was quite an undertaking with well over 200 entrants across all brackets, but I'm really happy to see how everything turned out. Thank you to
@gameconcanada
and
@MemoryExpress
for this wonderful opportunity.
My current upcoming out-of-region events:
- February 16-18: Genesis X (California)
- February 24-25: Perfect Pivot (Manitoba)
Very excited for both events! I've been looking to make a return trip to Manitoba, awesome community with many talented players. See you folks soon!
This is a good time to introduce my monthly series, The Fight Pit! It'll be happening in Edmonton on April 21. Entry is FREE and venue is FREE. There will be a singles bracket with prizing, an amateur bracket, and a special thug finals format! Check the poster for details!
Made it on the lists for my co-mains! I know it's not a ranking, so I'll definitely have to do better in the future and see if my contribution numbers can get pushed up a bit more. Still lots of work left to be done. Thank you to everyone who has helped me get up to this point!
Next 8 characters! Big D holds a lead with Ice Climbers even with FutaKiwa's incredible attendance records. Bowser has shifted more towards Hero, but Leon & Mukuro are still in the top 3. Pit continues to be relevant in Asia-Pacific, while Brawler is a mess of secondary scores.
AB Assignment-finishing tier list
(This is for fun so dw about your placement. If you're not on here, I either don't know you well enough to guess or probably haven't met you.)
Wanted to give a shoutout to all the efforts made by everyone from AB headed over to BOBC. Flights, car rides, even bus trips. Wishing luck to everyone and sending my energy. Have fun this weekend gamers
This weekend, over 100 Albertans will descend on British Columbia for
@battleofbc
! 🏆
We're excited to see local gamers representing our province! On behalf of the Alberta Esports community, we'd like to wish good luck to everyone competing! Let's make Alberta proud! 💪
Gonna be heading back today, but had a great time at Genesis! Got to meet a few new people (Pits and WFTs) and got to know some folks a bit better. I'll be working hard to push my gameplay up the steps needed to perform at the level I'd like to reach. Also new pfp lol
Also! A few offstream endings: one for Shadic vs Maister, the other for zackray vs Dabuz. There were some very intense crowd gatherings for some matches
I've created my first piece of video coaching content! I'd like to do more of these if they're well-received. If you're willing, please gas this tweet up with a retweet or like so more people can see it. Big thanks to
@ShacklefordMB
for editing the video!
(1/2) As my trip to Halifax draws to a close, special thanks to
@Bongosonthewall
and
@vaultSSB
for housing me this weekend. Thanks to
@kal_bel
for reaching out and putting the idea of the trip into my mind. Lastly, thanks to
@txhesports
for helping me get out to this event.
In Spokane for Daddy's Den. Today has the side brackets and tomorrow is singles + doubles. Really looking forward to the event! Here's a pic I took of Spokane falls
We've also got Canadian talent flying in for Octobair this year and this one is literally flying.
@silver_cck
will be going for gold this Saturday. Hopefully Pit's wings will be enough for him against BC's best.
Found my first smash medal! This came from a free-for-all Brawl tournament at an anime convention in Australia. I played Marth and used Fsmash to take home the win. I'd like to thank my c-stick
A bit of a late post, but I was able to pull through with the W for the Lacombe Dome. Thanks to everyone who helped run the event and to everyone that competed! It was a lot of fun playing this weekend. GGs to
@MajorSSB
, looking forward to seeing your run at Cascadia Clash!
Both top 8s were great, awesome spectator experience. Gonna try to get a video out of the trip as soon as I can, but it probably won't happen until next week. Looking forward to next weekend at Perfect Pivot in Manitoba! I'm coming for you guys 👀
New video! This one is for my vlog trip to Toronto for Gourmet Bash 3 in late March. My next video is going to be Ultimate coaching content, so stay tuned!
New video! This is how I try to break down interactions in smash. It's a very simplified method that tries to avoid judgment. Instead, you focus on understanding why situations turn out the way they do and why we use specific options. Take a look!
Starting March, I'm going to prioritize my content creation efforts and get a consistent video rhythm going for my yt. This includes coaching content, vlog trips, and other videos that I can get out. The starting goal is once every two weeks. It'll be a hard grind lol
New video! This one's about 3 tips/considerations for Pit players looking to improve. Check it out here and give it some love!
I'd like to make more videos based on my mains in the future, so feel free to suggest content you'd like to see!
(2/2) The Atlantic Canada scene was very friendly to me, and I'm happy that I was able to make the trip out. Kings of Hali is a really nice event, and I'd recommend that folks consider it if you're looking for an event in the future. Thank you Atlantic Canada for having me!
Next weekend, I'll be heading out to Toronto for Gourmet Bash! Very much looking forward to competing.
I'll have a few free days while I'm in the Toronto area. Gonna try to find events to compete at, and I'll film extra vlog content. Time to grind and be ready for the event
New video! This is a new series that'll focus on mentality/mindset in esports, called "The Mental Meta". This video is about the importance of a mindset!
Drop a like or comment to help me know if I should make more of these!
Do people have any superstitions or rituals before playing in a tournament?
When I'm going to a local, I play two CDs: one on the way there, and one on the way back. Usually in the same order too
Otherwise, for bigger tournaments, my controllers will get a full cleaning
What Better Than One Silver?
Two Silvers!
Silver_CCK and Silverosu will be attending Gourmet Bash 3 & will also be entering doubles together
Join them by registering now ⬇️
Gonna try to stream more consistently again! I'll be running on both Youtube and Twitch over the next period, but I'll try to stream a fair variety of content, including smash practice. Gotta start grinding up for the summer
New content plan! I think I'm gonna try and give MU videos a shot for my mains. There are a lot of MUs in the game, but I'll try to chip away at them a bit at a time.
Pit/Wii Fit players, what are some MUs you'd like to see covered?
Been playing Smash Pros, it's been working great! Pretty similar to how you'd go through playing out an online set. I can definitely see this picking up a lot more steam, and I'll probably use it myself
My upcoming out-of-region events:
Out of Pocket (June 30th)
Victoria Monthly (July 13th)
Border Brawl 3 (Aug 3rd)
DD 15 Revival (Sept 28th)
There are some events I'm attending in AB as well, which I'll post about in due time. Really excited for a summer of smash!
In preparation for Genesis and the other tournaments that I'm attending, I'm going to try to stream more! Starting off today with reviewing some of Zackray's sets. Future streams may include viewer arenas or friendlies with other players.
A few shots of the crowd setup at the convention center and some vendors over the last couple of days. I have more footage, but will try to combine it into a highlight reel for the trip. Finals is today, so I'll try to get a good spot for that
To single out the involved personnel specifically, thanks to Rm8, SJ Walkin, Teleafa, Nullex, Kursed, ./rust_man, Tsuyu, Jarl, RaisK, Likwd DJ, The Reek, Artful Hobbes, Kally, Nurse, and NootNoot for all of their wonderful help!
(3/4) Special shoutouts to
@EsportsAlberta
,
@Chandeluressb
,
@Tye_AB
, and
@CanakrnEsports
for helping to source last-minute setups and equipment. The execution of this event would not have been possible without your contributions, and I am extremely grateful. Thank you.
A final thanks to everyone who cheered me on, and thanks to the AB scene for propping all of our players up this weekend; you're all awesome. Great stuff to all the players that made the trip out repping AB this weekend ❤️
Tomorrow our very own
@silver_cck
is running his own local tournament series
The Fight Pit in Edmonton, Alberta!
Catch all the ultimate action tomorrow on his stream !
(4/4) And lastly, to all attendees, I thank you for coming out and hope that you thoroughly enjoyed your weekend. Thank you all for participating and letting us run an event at this scale.
Time to get some much needed rest lol
3rd place at September Squabble, lost to Ouch and Lemmon. Closest set I've had with Ouch, but I'll have to get better. A big shoutout to
@Snip3rlionBanjo
for help with the Steve MU, came in handy tonight. It was a great time in Vic. GGs BC, I shall return
In Toronto this weekend for Gourmet Bash 3. A big thank you to
@NickSF_SSB
for helping to bring me out to this event! Looking forward to the competition, gonna try my best 💪
I just registered for Port Priority 8, and then I realized:
It's my first international event since a free-for-all Brawl tournament in 2013 in Australia.
Dang
(2/4) I sincerely thank all of my team (TOs/casters/volunteers) who helped our event to run as smoothly as possible. I know you folks put everything into the event, and it's very much appreciated. I hope that I was able to express my gratitude to each and every one of you.
Less than a week away from Port! Really excited for the upcoming brackets, and really excited to be seeing plenty of faces, old and new. Tune into my stream for my Smash Pros grind and practice if you get the chance! Let's hope the grind pays off 💪
My
@txhesports

@TeePublic

Made an updated Pit MU chart. It's subject to change, but it should represent my general thoughts about most MUs. Small notes about the omitted characters in the thread
My roommate bought M&M Kart Racing for Wii, we instantly get stuck inside roadside obstacles. No reverse button, only turning and shaking to get out
10/10
Of all the mangaka I thought would pass away next, I didn't expect it to be Toriyama...
Rest in peace, Akira Toriyama. Your works had a great impact on my life, and you were a big part of my childhood.
