@HenshinSophia While it may involve some exploitation 🥲, as they claim your publications without offering any salary, it does provide a sort of safe space for you to base and work from 😅

@HenshinSophia Given your numerous publications and the work on your book (and if needed more, you could also mention your intention to apply for a DECRA upon completing your manuscript) already, they should be open to considering it.

@HenshinSophia I'm sorry to hear... If you haven't already, you should consider asking your university for an honorary or adjunct researcher position. This would provide a proper title, access to facilities, software, and possibly a hot desk or office!

@FujikakeRin @ClaireMareeUoM And no, none of my cases involve business dealings or being “adopted” into their spouses’ families (but yes, this is only my personal experience). I believe it’s fascinating to see these cases, even though they may represent a minority.

@FujikakeRin @ClaireMareeUoM First of all, as I said, I very much understand your point, meaning that it is rare for men to take their wives’ name. Having said that 4% is not exactly “pretty much never happens.” I didn’t mean to negate your point, but I am trained in academia, so I was trained to be precise.

@ClaireMareeUoM @FujikakeRin I totally understand your point, but saying "men CAN change their surname to their wives’ surname, but it pretty much never happens" is a bit of a stretch. My dad and some of my friends’ dads actually did take their wives' last names, so perhaps it’s not as rare as it may seem.

Dazed Magazine runs a very cool story about black TickTockers embracing the 1990s gyaru look and culture. You can also see a small contribution from me - it was awesome to chat with journalist Sayou Cooper! @USydSLC @SydneyUni_Media

A piece that discusses the relationship between Sailor Moon and high fashion; something we’ve been waiting for from @emeraldlking!
30 years on, Sailor Moon is still so popular – with brands still producing themed merchandise, and a two-part film set to release this month. 🌙 The series was not the first “magical girl”, but it changed anime for good, writes @emeraldlking (@UTAS_).
