Planning madness strikes again Not everyone can have exactly what they want = no one can have anything. Community planning consent is a fucking idiotic dead end. The Pro-Newts/DIE types/NIMBYs keep winning and we end up with ZERO real growth for decades. So glad that Labour is finally contemplating ripping up planning laws altogether.
A vital piece of clean energy infrastructure in Anglesey has been blocked partly because 15% of the jobs created would go to people who are not yet locals, and this might slightly affect the ratio of Welsh speakers to non-Welsh speakers in the area.

Isn't this a separation of responsibilities issue? You can create safe regs - but if getting actual power stations built is not your responsibility then, being the safest is the goal. What if (like before?) the divisor of the regulations and the commissioner of the power stations, were one and the same? The inspectorate can and should be separate.
