One of my favorite memoirs that I have ever read was Jimmy Carter’s “An Hour Before Daylight: Memories of a Rural Boyhood.” A warm, personal look at Carter’s childhood - including the birth of his faith in the Gospel and his lifelong walk with Christ. Celebrating the life of Barney Leone this afternoon! At 99, he went to be with Jesus. A WWII vet, pastor, father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and most importantly, follower of Jesus. Barney’s warm smile and winsome welcome were contagious. Blessed to have known him!

35 years ago today, March 5, 1989, I asked Lesli to marry me. She said yes! Here we are that evening after we shared the news with friends on our college campus. What a great day! In June of the next year, we were married! What an even better day!
