@jzpitts When you've gone over it so many times you can no longer trust yourself to spot the errors. Share it with a beta reader, editor, other authors, anyone who isn't invested in making you feel good, such as loved ones, family, or friends.

@klhicks912 To bring some sense of joy to my readers. Esp. in difficult times when they need a breather from the daily grind.

@morkalmarrh IDK. Waking to 3 form rejections affirms you had the courage and confidence to risk putting yourself out there. This is a tough industry nut to crack. It'll never happen without the risks you clearly took.

@LindenmuthWendi Depends on the people. There are those who live very much in the moment, appreciating and acknowledging it all as it happens. Besides, if we're doing things solely to be noticed or acknowledged, not for the pure joy found in the doing, it might be us with the wrong perspective.

@moss_fiore I avoid modern slang at all costs. What's in vogue when I write will be outdated 1 - 3 years down the road when the book hits the shelves. No one notices the absence of trendy slang. Everyone snickers when they see its obsolete usage.

@jzpitts Self-directed verbal abuse, telling myself to get over myself and get on with what I need to be doing, faking the confidence if I must.

@melissajcave @RebeccaEvita It's the author's choice and, so it follows, the reader's choice. Some like it. Others don't. There's enough variety out there meaning there is room for all. As a reader, I prefer innuendo and suggestion - fade to black - much more than explicit details, so that's how I write.

@Russell99695573 I'm hybrid. I plot a little, write a little, plot a little etc. If I plot too far ahead, the story turns in a direction I never imagined -> time wasted as plot has become OBE. Still, without a plot outline, I sit and stare at the screen asking, "Now what?"

@RachelGlickler It's pain, loneliness, and poor sense of self worth. While it makes me mad in the heat of the moment, my heart breaks for these people in calmer tides.

@SusanSavageLee1 There's no set number. My MS is done when it's done. Then I send it to a pro editor and discover it's not as done as I thought. Putting out a book is like carpentry or paint-and-body work. There are always imperfections and we who did the work know it!

@LindenmuthWendi My faith. What good fortune that I take it me everywhere I go. If only I would access it more than I do!

Parent teacher conference - Mom&Dad: Before we begin, do NOT tell us he's not meeting his potential. We've heard it all his life. Tell us why. Teachers:
ADHD is having every childhood authority figure tell you you’re gifted and have such potential, but you’re wasting it by being too lazy, spacey, selfish, or failing to “apply” yourself.

@realeverywriter I hope not. There is nothing here to interest a benevolent, advanced race. That leaves conquest or becoming human livestock. Besides, name one culture that's survived exposure to a more advanced one. It never works out well.
