@frequentbuyer1 Thanks goodness. This clarification to ensure noncitizens can't vote in SC certainly wouldn't have happened otherwise.

@Jimmyspolitics States aren't political subdivisions. It's unlawful now by statute. But other states' courts have interpreted language like our current constitutional language to allow noncitizens to vote in nonfederal elections. We propose the amendment to ensure our courts won't do the same

@Jimmyspolitics Regardless, apparently . . . unfortunately, someone at the P&C (the institution itself) does believe it's reasonable to consider allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections, and that's why we need the clarification in our state constitution.

Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people.
Leadership is hard because it means you have to tell people they’re not good enough. Everyone can’t be the best. Too many leaders today are afraid to have difficult conversations. This will forever be my favorite Saban clip.
