On this day in 1977 Sex Pistols released 'God Save The Queen'. Even though it technically out-sold the number 1 record of the week ( Rod Stewart's 'The First Cut is the Deepest) 'GSTQ' peaked at number 2. The powers-that-be refused to acknowledge it but Sex Pistols were number 1.
