Excelente noticia! Me cuesta pensar en una mejor persona para cumplir este rol.
Algunos lo saben pero quería contarles que desde 2025 estaré dirigiendo la Maestría en Economía de @UBAeconomicas. Doble privilegio, yo mismo la hice hace 30 años. Entusiasmado con hacerla crecer apuntando al máximo rigor técnico, compromiso con el país y diversidad de miradas.

New paper with Anna Aizer and Gabrielle Grafton, studying what happened to workers in the alcohol industry and their families after Prohibition. We find negative and persistent effects on workers themselves, but positive effects on their daughters' labor force participation
During Prohibition when many men lost their jobs, daughters increased their labor supply and delayed marriage and childbearing likely in an effort to compensate for lost wages, from Anna Aizer, Gabrielle Grafton, and @seperez84

Thanks to @florianederer for highlighting our work! This paper is part of a larger research agenda on inequality in US higher education, from students (see earlier thread to professors.
Academics from poorer socio-economic backgrounds are more likely to - not publish - have outstanding publication records - introduce more novel scientific concepts - less likely to receive recognition, as measured by citations, Nobel Prize nominations, and awards.

@TotiArias10 La zona de Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach (al Sur de Santa Monica) es espectacular. Se puede alquilar una bici (o incluso caminar) y son kilómetros de playas y lugares para comer/tomar algo (por ejemplo, arrancando desde Torrance Beach y yendo hacia el norte).
