Time for my top 10 sporting moments of 2024. Heavily Olympic biased this year and Rhys McClenaghan’s gold medal in gymnastics was the biggest highlight. From Tokyo heartbreak to Paris heaven. Loved the emotion after his routine knowing he’d done his best

@sean_tougher They’re broken down, not split. The numbers at the bottom don’t add up to numbers on top (for example). So the AIL might have been on there, but it just doesn’t register high enough to get a mention

I like Eli but “1 of the great moments in the history of British football” is insane

The timing. The goal. The history. The significance. The last derby at *that* stadium. The fact a centreback scored that 3 mins after extratime finished. For *this* Everton side to do that against *that* Liverpool side. 1 of the great moments in the history of British football.

@Irish_Grounds @chippie1974 Growth of brands rather than growth of sports. It effectively measures how brands and sponsors feel about sports

@RichardOBoyle1 Yeah. He took it beautifully, but you’d expect him to score from there with that space

Big week for LOI fans on here saying they’re boiling piss and everyone else is rattled. So the same as every week really. Some weeks you’re the piss boiler, some weeks you’re rattled. Some weeks you’re both

“Wall has recently invested one and a half million euro into Kerry Football Club” Some good stuff in here. The new owner in Kerry won’t be hands on, in a good way.

@greene_daire I didn’t see a minute of it before injury time tbh. Couldn’t pass up the joke though based on the late goals again

@MicTuathaigh No issue with what she is doing, but the club should have been out front of all this

@Youdont45007491 To be fair plenty of away fans complaining about Pats prices last year too 😀 Home tickets pretty much sold out every week but a lot of season ticket holders there

@rayhibs @WillHay1966 I wasn’t picking on Waterford. Just pointing out it’s the same everywhere and has been for years. We’re also seeing record crowds so maybe the clubs are right

@rayhibs @WillHay1966 Just the way it is. Your own club charges €7 for a 12 year old and €12 for a 13 year old. None of them are ever going back
