Qualitative research pet peeve: The phrase ālittle is known aboutā¦ā Please always clarify āby whomā little is known. Little is known by a specific set of academic researchers. Thereās usually a people group (the population studied) whoās well aware of your findings.

Yes. A white person earning a degree is also political but isnāt inherently a positive contribution to society. We whites need to work to use that access and privilege for something positive beyond ourselves.

@heymrsbond I made my policy a 50% on the assignment, since, unlike plagiarism, it was pretty hard to prove ChatGPT use beyond a reasonable doubt. I got a lot of āI wrote it I just used grammarly or messed up that 1 citation.ā But this is such a struggleā thanks for sharing

In a similar paper review situation I called it āscholarship of integrationā (Boyer) to emphasize that Iād be doing something intentionally interdisciplinary and that still has value.
The best paper I have written has now been rejected from 3 journals on the basis that, while good, it's (a) too historical for the law journals and (b) too much law for the history journal. I'm actually at a loss for what to do.
