Triceps is very active during throwing. Tightness usually doesn't indicate anything beyond a muscular injury but always best to wait for MRI results.

The teres major is located on the back of the shoulder and assists in throwing. The good news is that it's not a component of the rotator cuff. Likely a 6-8 week injury at best.
More tough injury news: Joe Ryan’s injury is worse than the Twins expected. It’s a Grade 2 teres major strain that will take “weeks to months,” Rocco said.
Didn’t rule him out for the season outright yet, but it’s certainly more severe than initial indications.

As much of a bummer as it is, Vikings fans should be happy McCarthy's meniscus could be repaired. As long as it holds, and majority do, that has better long-term outcomes.

Triceps pain doesn't generally correspond with, say, UCL damage. Tyler Mahle was diagnosed with triceps soreness and then had TJ but I would say that's an odd pain presentation. Again, best to wait for further info.

Meniscectomy is 4-8 weeks.
Meniscal repair is 6 months.
For long term knee health, you'd rather a repair but not all meniscus injuries can be repaired.
QB J.J. McCarthy will undergo knee surgery this week to determine severity of knee injury, per sources. Reported soreness yesterday.
