I don't want to offend k-pop fans, but I have the feeling they're carrying a lot of k-pop culture into vkei, which bothers me a bit. I can live with the term "bias", although I don't get why they can't use oshi or honmei, but I don't like that they bring idol mindset into vkei.

Vkei is rock music. It's often provocative, dark and 6ual. If you can't deal with this, you should maybe stay with k-pop.
Bandmen are no idol dolls. They're men and they often behave like men/rockstars do, which includes smoking, drinking, dating etc.

I think the problem is that overseas fans think you have to dress like bandman to be vkei without knowing that the most bangyas in japan doesn't look vkei at all. Vkei means for me the band has to sound and look vkei. That's it.
Something I've been wondering about the overseas vkei fandom: it seems like many of us view “visual kei” as more of a “personal fashion style” than a “music genre.”
Of course bangya tend to have a certain style, but they still look like “fans,” right?

Everybody wants to be a bangya (as if vkei fan wouldn't be enough) but nobody wants to carry the responsibility of a bangya! To be one it means you literally dedicate your whole life to a band. It doesn't just mean you are a fan.

2-shot 撮影会in Europe is quite new. But in Japan it's normal to take all kinds of poses with vkei bandmen. Some guys have restrictions about poses but most of them don't care, do this kind of poses even by themselves or see this as part of the job.

Thats also a point! But I especially have a problem that they try to compare kpop idol scene with vkei and their bandmen.
Plus, I am also concerned because although vkei has a toxic fandom as well, it's nothing compared with the shit what is going on in kpop.

Sorry but what kind of statement is that? I am pretty sure every band would rather stay together than disband. Fans don't have the background knowledge of what the band has gone through. Everything we can do is to support the bands we love to the fullest so we have no regrets.

Zera was fun! I think they sound a bit like Tanbi Kei which I usually don't like so much, but their music also have carnival elements like Gallo and Jigsaw. All in all it was super fun. I recommend to listen to their top songs on spotify.

I don't mean every man is like this, but bandmen aren't idols and therefore not pretending to be innocent.
If you are moving inside the vkei bubble, especially in JP you will notice that immediately, sometimes even worse. There are i.e. also toxic men in vkei(Ofc not all of them)

Oshi means just favorite. JP use it not just for vkei, also for game characters etc. You could have an oshi at every band but you usually just have honmei. An honmei is THE one bandman you support with your full heart. ❤️
Oshi means favorite, it is used for video game characters, anime characters, idols and more. Honmei means kind of the same but it is only used for band members 🐕

Absolutely!! Big NO to sharing messages or likes of bandmen! There is nothing that excuses sharing private messages or likes. I even hate if people flex about their honmei posting/wearing a present or something. Keep this private and discuss with friends! Show respect!

I agree that I hate gossiping at Tanuki but it's not nice to talk badly about people who dedicate their lives to a dominor band. A lot of the bandman are working very hard everyday and without the bangyas they couldn't make it. 💔

People who complain about experienced bangyas in japan are often these who also aren't willing to follow the rules at indie concerts. The ones who just go into front rows without knowing furi, cut lines and acting in a rude way because the rules are 'stupid'

Yes that's maybe the reason. And it gets problematic when young fans start to attack other fans for beeing 'no real vkei fan'. Just because they doesn't dress/ look vkei. Everybody who enjoy vkei bands is a vkei fan.
Bangyas have a lot of different visual styles mostly not vkei.

Real love is when you get up at 7 in the morning, so you can go to a Taiban starting at 10, where you wait 6 hours for your honmeiband, although they play just 25 minutes. 😭 I love them so much.

Ich bin bei den Farben noch am überlegen, aber eigentlich finde ich es schon sehr hübsch.
Das Gefühl, dass das Cover schon fertig ist, ist wirklich angenehm. Eine Sorge weniger.

I know that they are Korean but they are listed as vkei band as well. If the rules of vkei are not applicable to them, then which do? Do they have their own? Most consider them as vkei.

Tbh the reason I always order chekis of my honmei /buy at every concert is not bec. I am so addicted to the band. It's just that I have to support them in any way I can. Bec. if they ever stopped making music, I couldn't live with the thought that I hadn't supported them enough.

Mal ein Lebenszeichen auf twitter mit meinen Babys Kizeki und Minoru. Ich bin mit der Plattform irgendwie nie warm geworden, nutze sie aber selbst ab und zu. Ich hab das Gefühl dass ich mittlerweile mit keiner Plattform mehr zufrieden bin. Der Algo überall nervt einfach nur noch.

You don't have to be afraid. I started to get into the bangya scene a bit over a year ago and there are so many amazing people here. (Before, I visited just european concerts) The gyas are super helpful if you need something and explain a lot. I always offer help too! 🫶

I always recommend Jigsaw. They have 00s vkei sound, are dark but not aggressively dramatic and they have absolutely stunning MVs plus a unique "horror carnival" sound. Please check their new song "Aigan Meiden"

I think the people just didn't understand how expensive it is to be a bandman. Living in Tokyo is also not cheap and a lot of them have to work besides of their bandman life. Just one reason gyas are spending so much money on them.
