Yesterday was my last ever student shift with
@MattBailey1717
Today I received my final mark and have passed my paramedic course. I have achieved what has been my biggest ambition in life. Thank you everyone who has helped me. I hope to do you all proud.

Unconditional offer letter received. I’m officially going to be a trainee Advanced Paramedic Practitioner with
@Nestteam1
Can’t wait to get started! That said the imposter syndrome has arrived bang on schedule 😂
As we’ve got some time on shift today myself and Nurse Alex have been giving each other some training input. I’ve been teaching her about airway management, intubation and ventilation. She has been teaching me about nursing care for neonates and equipment familiarisation.
Jet packs are all well and good. Something to aspire to eventually? Maybe. But, there is so much more that the paramedic and pre-hospital profession needs before jet packs.
RTACC??? Completed mate! Had an amazing 5 days with the
@ATACCGroup
for my
#RTACC
train the trainer course. Learnt lots both clinical and non-clinical. Thank you to
@keatingteam1
and
@SurvivalEdge
for their expert guidance and engaging teaching.
Emergency services folks of London. Is ‘The wave’ between other services when driving about not a thing??? Today
@ManxBrowner
and I are driving back from
#EMRSS23
in a marked ambulance and have waved at several LAS, Met Police and LFB vehicles and have not had the wave returned.
This morning my family and I will lay my grandfather to rest. He was always so proud of me being in the ambulance service. I am hugely honoured to have been given permission to wear dress uniform today.
Final practical exam of my paramedic course passed. Just two written assignments, one dissertation, my portfolio and 6 months to go.

Four years ago today. The world of emergency and resuscitation medicine lost an incredible man and true inspiration to many of us including myself. Honourable intentions always.

A plea to the HEMS/PHEM folk out there I’m currently writing a dissertation on the variance in UK CCP practice + scope I’m struggling to get the info needed If you have access to your Job description, Scope of practice doc, training portfolio etc can you please get in touch
And so ends two incredibly full on days for the
#EMRSS23
students. The quality of care, decision making, leadership and team work has been exemplary with shared learning from different specialties from different countries.
PHEM Peeps of Twitter. If you attend a pedestrian struck by a vehicle and their shoes have knocked off by the impact. Does this make you nervous/twitchy? If so why? It’s something I’ve heard of that can indicate serious injuries. But can’t find anything in the literature about it
Over on Facebook, crews in
@Glos_SWASFT
have been in friendly competition over who can make the best stretcher. Can any other
@swasFT
or other trust crews best their efforts? As he’s not on FB, we have brought this to Twitter so
@airvroad
can be the guest judge.

Yesterday I achieved my dream by signing off as a flight paramedic for
@LDNairamb
I’m so proud to work alongside such incredible colleagues and to be there for the people of London when they need us.
A great day of multi professional simulations
@ResusMasters
#EMRSS24
the students displayed a great level of clinical care and post incident debrief learning!
@ManxBrowner
knocking the moulage out of the part yet again!! 🚑
Down at
@HantsIOW_fire

Day one of
@ResusMasters
#EMRSS24
has begun! This afternoon
@ManxBrowner
and I will be delivering a Pre-Hospital masterclass looking at the unique environment that is PHEM!
Great day with
@HIWFRS_LandD
running a CPD session on essential airway management for their IEC embedded trainers. The day included, manual manoeuvres, adjuncts, i-Gel, proper BVM use and the opportunity to try intubating to demo it’s difficulties and why I-Gel is favoured.
Fantastic quality assurance visit with
@Fareham17
red watch today. The crew demonstrated an exceptionally high standard of medical care with great attention to detail!
Amazing photo demonstrating how the fire and rescue service can be a great asset to pre-hospital care and provide high level, effective care. In this case the pit stop approach to cardiac arrest. Well done
@HIWFRS_LandD
@HantsIOW_fire
Finally got around to watching The Rescue about the Thai Cave diving rescue. Impossible to not be moved by the grit and determination of the teams involved. An incredible story on a technical, medical and human level. A testament to what can be achieved by working together
Today is a big day:
I’ve had my final ever exam of my paramedic course and submitted my final portfolio. Just awaiting marks and registration now.
#Student
#Paramedic
And we’re underway with
@HIWFRS_LandD
for the recruits simulation day. Big thanks to the crews from
@swasFT
and
@HIOWAA
for coming along to make the day as realistic as possible.
So it would seem this is a thing. It’s called Cinderella Sign. Although it’s not something that is well documented and appears more anecdotal. So my next question and this is for the research peeps in the audience. How would one go about researching this phenomenon??

A true gentleman, an incredible teacher and a legend of the pre-hospital & paramedic community. Happy retirement Pete. It’s been an honour to both know and work with you.
Today one of our longest standing members of the team ‘Paramedic Pete’ is retiring. Pete has been with us since the beginning & has been an asset to the charity! Not only has he been a fantastic paramedic, he has been involved in many different teams that care for our community.
Well that was a bit emotional. Felt truly humbled by the amount of people who out clapping and cheering for our amazing health service. Thank you to everyone who has shown their support in what have been truly strange and trying times. 💙💚
#NHSproud
This is absolutely next level! Having know Vicki for a while and how hard she works it is 110% deserved. An incredible paramedic who so many including myself look up to. Well done mate 🙌🏻
After 3 years we have just finished the final ever lecture of my paramedic course. Just one exam left and my portfolio to hand in.

Have just taken delivery of my copy of the
@FPHCEd
Foundation Material for Immediate Care. An amazing book for both experienced practitioners, or those studying to enter into the world of Pre-Hospital care. Especially new
#StudentParamedics
@GWAAC
being a ground breaking service by allowing their Critical Care

Tomorrow, (1 July 2020), the phased process of introducing an enhanced 24/7 EMRTS operation will begin. For more information about this exciting development, please visit
It’s that time of year again where
@ManxBrowner
and I make our annual pilgrimage to
@ResusMasters
summer school! As always a big thank you to
@GlosSJAPres
for the loan of the vehicle to make the sims more realistic! Heres to a great week!! 🚑
#ERMSS24
Had an incredible day
@AvonFireRescue
UKRO challenge today. The teams demonstrated some incredible standards of pre-hospital care. What made the day even better was being signed off as
@_ukro
trauma assessor.
