This reality has become principle at our company.
Node/react app took me multiple weekends to write. I rewrote entire thing in 4 hours with Rails. So I’m saying I’m real good at Ruby and real bad at JavaScript. Or JavaScript is just bad. A tweet everyone can agree with!

@eileencodes We just use a bunch of yaml blocks with names like #{RAILS_ENV}_some_db_name. Each establishes connection via an abstract ApplicationRecord class that models subclass from. Simple and works great.
