@mattmedeiros I've tried Cursor, I can't get into it. I need to give it another shot, but most of the tough problems I run into can't be solved by AI. It's great for easy stuff, but easy stuff is...easy.

I'm sure it will get better, but for now I work best writing my own code, sometimes using GH copilot autocomplete, and I chat with an LLM on the side. Not too worried about losing my job yet.

@RoyDevelops @Steve8708 Good tip, another thing I've used to keep the model tightly controlled is forcing it to only use tools. You can have a tool for docs RAG responses alongside other tools, but you basically pre-define every action it can take. IME it prevents hallucinations almost entirely.

Multiple times this week I have run into an issue that even the latest LLM models cannot help me fix. AI is not gonna take my job (yet).

Sometimes I forget AI is changing everything, not just software engineering. Being able to design and print 3D objects with almost no special skills is nuts.
