A key part of our wish to keep the Reaper sailing ( is to nurture the skills needed to sail and maintain her. Boatbuilding has been classified as ‘endangered’ by The #HeritageCraftsAssociation. Help us to develop, practise and share these #skills.

This week we were visited by a basket-maker looking to create a replica of an 'Arbroath rip' - a type of basket. So, for this week's #PhotoFriday we have chosen this portrait of a fishwife carrying an Arbroath rip and two arm creels. #handmade #basketweaving #baskets

Good Morning everyone, the sky is not quite this blue today but everything is much calmer than Friday - thank goodness! The roofers have been in to assess the damage and make the building as safe as possible for now, so the museum and café are both open again.

This #PhotoFriday, as we shelter from Storm Éowyn, we remember a now-vanished safe haven that used to stand along the coast at Buckhaven. Our new exhibition explores the history of Buckhaven Harbour and was created by local P6 school children. It opens on 25th January.
