🐻 It was more Scoil Paddington than Scoil Phádraig today as the whole school walked to The W Cinema to watch the new Paddington movie. The film explores Paddington's heritage and, much like our school, celebrates the richness of diverse backgrounds.

⛳️ Thanks to Cian from Golf Ireland who delivered interactive workshops to children in 4th - 6th classes. Mr. Mulchrone and Mr. Moran were taking notes for their next outing at the golf course!

Ms. Carroll’s 5th class were really lucky to participate in a storytelling, drama and creative writing workshop with Orla from Spontaneous Theatre. Everyone had such a wonderful time!

The Board Game Club is up and running the last few weeks in Ms. Carroll’s room. We have ten brand new board games to add to our collection!

Today, Mrs. Brady, Mr. Seoighe and three pupils, Sheldon, Hayley and Yana, travelled to Dublin to collect the award. It's always nice to return to the west from Croke Park with something to celebrate! (2/2)

🚶♂️🚶♀️ Today, 6th class used micro:bits to create step counters. They had to use variables in their code and then they tested their accuracy in the corridor and outdoors.

Thank you to Pauline and Nicole from AbbVie Westport who came and spoke to 5th and 6th class about their work and STEM. They did some experiments with the children and everyone enjoyed the session.

The first POBAL assembly of the year was held this morning where Mrs. Brady spoke about updating the POBAL Charter. The students were tasked to create school-wide expectations so our school can look, sound and feel like the words displayed by the children.

Gemma Hensey and Pat Fahy spoke with 5th and 6th classes today about a social history project entitled, Grandparents' Talk. The children will work on the project this month with their grandparents' stories published in a book later this year.

⚽️ Forget Euro 2024 in Germany, the big match took place in Westport today. On a gloriously sunny afternoon, the boys and girls, who played in the Aviva Stadium, faced an arguably tougher test - an eclectic mix of staff members from Scoil Phádraig!
