Finally, I got my US visa after 2.5 months (!) of waiting/delay 🥳🥳🥳. Now I can enter the US till March 19, 2024! So invite me to visit you before it expires again in 11 months!
It's -25 deg C today in Toronto; and I had to wait outdoors for an hour (!) in line to get in the US consulate to apply for a visa, and got refused/admin processing. :( and... (1/2)

Now I finally got some time to post some tweets about the #iaus379. First and best is this slide from @alexanderpji 's talk (sorry that I forgot to take any photos), because S5 has got a new name in Germany: Sour, Salty, Savory Sausage and Sauerkraut! 🤣

My first conference in Germany and also my first conference in 3.5 yr. #iaus379 it was great, awesome, but my flight today got canceled and I'm now stuck at Munich till at least Tuesday... What an adventure! Maybe I should find some potential collaborators here! Any suggestions?

@balbinotdd oh yeah! Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory! I do not think I connected that with SAOImage either..... (probably I do not know quite a lot of what those abbreviations actually stand for)...

maybe you feel it's a normal conversation, but it does hurt a lot, especially when I realized how much effort I had to put into visa (and PR) applications.....

and.... all visa expires after 6 months or a year, so I need to do this every year. //life of a chinese....

@SKoposovAstro maybe you should write me an invitation letter :) so I can apply now (otherwise I need to wait for the DESI collaboration to write me a letter, and I can only apply 3 months before the conference)
