Dead on accurate… SO flippin’ cool! I have such a huge debt of gratitude to @ben_haldeman for the chance of a lifetime… @Firefly_Space ‘s Blue Ghost has been the catalyst for a whole new world of learnings, doings, and makings… AND … I’ve discovered the COOLEST folks along my own hackschooling journey… AMSAT being at the top of the list… their community of ‘signal chasers’ makes me smile… truly, truly lovely humans. ✨🤟🫂

It delights me to no end that my Dearest Nice Aunties are included in my Digital Lunar Payload… in 20-ish days… they’ll be on the ACTUAL Lunar surface… and amongst the stars where they belong. I love this project so much… the crazy innovation and more importantly, the narrative & story behind this project. Art is universal… is has a way of speaking to humanity as a whole… it transcends languages & borders and speaks to the heart of what it means to be human. I secretly believe that a ‘nice Auntie’ is my final form… I’ll get there one day and it’ll be glorious ✨☕️✨

For downstate @michigantech Husky kiddos, there is a tradition of sending loved ones a picture of the Mackinaw Bridge upon arrival (the OBP… obligatory bridge pic) when traveling to and from campus… from that ‘drive-by pic,’ folks at home know that they’re either 5 hours till campus safely (going up) or, 3 hours and 12 minutes (in our case) from coming home & walking in the front door… as a parent, on those dangerous snowy/icy days, that wait for the OBP can be brutal… I’d imagine there is a nervous-excited-emotions all over the map-anticipation there at Mission Control… much like a parent waiting for their baby to arrive safely… ✨🤟🫂 And like a parent who has watched their Makerspawn leave the nest and fly… we know how they were built… what their capabilities are… how crazy resilient and well equipped they are… we know they’ll land safely & on their feet & do the thing they were born to do! *cues ‘Life is a Highway’ 🎶* For those following along at home, @coastal8049 posted the pics of Blue Ghost revving the engines during its TLI (TransLunar Injection) a couple of hours ago… We’re at the number 8 mile marker on the Firefly roadmap en route to the ‘Lunar circuit’ leg of the journey… looking at the map, it is awe-inspiring to think about how well though-out, planned, and practiced this mission is… the Ghost Rider Crew has been going through each step & rehearsing their actions in their sleep for ages Methinks… each milestone marker serves both as ‘a has been accomplished’ and ‘a will be there soon…’ When looking up at the Moon, one may think it’s a straight shot… a point A to point B destination… the little dots of highway dashes folks follow sometimes get lost amongst the stars… these moments in the ‘in-between’ are much like chasing the ephemeral flickering of nighttime fireflies… tiny sparks that remind us that we must be present to win if we want a chance at holding a lightning bug in the palm of our hand… or snapping the perfect picture of Earth from afar… In 20-ish days, Blue Ghost will land on the Lunar Surface… in that moment, the map gets handed off to the next pioneering souls headed out that way… The Ghost Rider lore becomes a landmark for futuredwellers & a dot on the highway of human Space exploration… ✨🤟🫂 Godspeed and SoftLandings
