Sitting under the desert stars, we watched Wanibik - a powerful film about the impact of the war in Western Sahara on Saharawis living in the camps.
Sandblast heartily condemns Morocco's recent cease-fire violations and violent attacks on Saharawi civilians in Guerguerat and in occupied Western Sahara. War is a terrible option. But we fully support the Saharawi's decision to defend their people and homeland. Enough is enough!

Badi was a Western Saharan poet who lived in exile in Algerian refugee camps after being forced to leave Western Sahara in 1975. Badi's poetry, written in the Hassaniyah dialect, evokes the lost nomadic lifestyle of the Saharawi people.

We are thrilled to announce the relaunch of the annual Sahara Marathon 2024 solidarity run fundraiser in the Saharawi refugee camps in South-West Algeria! 🌍🏅
From scorching temperatures to devastating sandstorms and flash floods, the Saharawi population exiled in the Algerian Hamada endure extreme conditions while striving for self-determination amidst economic challenges and limited aid support.
Music has always been at the core of Saharawi culture, from the long poems of el-hawl dedicated to the land to narrating war stories, oral traditions have been an important vehicle for the transmission of stories, customs, news and values of Saharawi culture.
