@uncountableart In undergrad at GW I took Leah Marshall's Calc III. I once asked her about her research and she enthusiastically explained computability to me...I was so hyped that I took her Computational Complexity class a year later (w/computability sprinkled in). amazing class!

!!!! so much gratitude to my understanding professors (most of them) and huge PSA to 3 callous bastards that made my life worse. Guess what? Loss/grief isn’t a student’s fault. Neither is disability. Neither is mental illness. DO NOT PUNISH STUDENTS FOR STRUGGLING W/THESE THINGS
Accommodating depression: A student struggling with major depression fell off the face of the earth for a few weeks. They resurfaced and asked if they could make up the work they missed. I said of course. They were confused. "Will I get points marked off?" 1/5
