There’s no institution, they’re DMRE certificates that you apply for once you’ve obtained a certain number of shifts in an underground mine and you have a blasting certificate
The mining industry in 5-10 years is going to be run by young people. Shift bosses, mine overseers and managers are going to be our classmates, peers. I can’t wait for this 😍

I was placed second after University of Zimbabwe. If you told a 10 year old me I was gonna do something like this one I was probably gonna laugh at you 😭 I won y’all! I did something I never thought I could do. I won!
Being underground is stressful as hell 😩 but watching everything come together after a long shift of sweating, shouting and swearing is honestly unmatched

I went to wits, CTC after. Got my blasting certificate and obtained the required shifts at an underground mine before I could apply with DMRE
Practise really is the best teacher. I used to breakdown before public speaking or presentations. Now I walk in there like a boss, you can’t do nothing to me 😂💃🏾 love this for myself
concept: its our first Valentine's weekend together. I love how we are thoughtlessly leaning against and holding each other while doing unrelated things. I am slowly falling in love again🥺
I really hope we get the graduation ceremony when the covid19 dust settles down, this is not even about just us, our families deserve to see us walk on those stages 🥺
Can’t believe we go into mine ventilation with a negative attitude because of that lecturer in that university. It’s honestly one of the most interesting departments, love it 😍
One thing about getting your blasting ticket in the mining industry? It will open doors for you. Some guy was waiting for private students to pass so he’ll hire them yesterday.
Learned today that when shit hits the fan in the mines, people WILL throw you under the bus 😭 everyone is tryna protect themselves, what a crazy industry 🥺
He was translating what he said in English to isizulu, he even said that so the people at home who don’t understand English can hear. I suspect the problem here is isizulu because that other minister was translating to Setswana and we heard none of this chat 😂
South Africa has 11 official languages, can the government officials please be reprimanded about speaking zulu on national television? This is disrespectful really.
Reminds me of the time some foreman asked for milk and left his coffee on the table for me to sort out for him. He found it still there and the milk still in the cardboard. First of all, I’m not your wife pls
My heart bleeds every time I see a graduate engineer buy an expensive car.
We have made these mistake years ago when we started our career and it’s sad that todays graduates are making the same mistakes.
The rat race cycle must end.
