Eyal Zamir has been appointed the next IDF Chief of Staff, replacing Herzi Halevi. Zamir had served in the IDF for 38 years in various senior combat and command positions. The appointment will be submitted to the government for approval next week and he is expected to take office on March 6th.

Well if there was ever a figure to symbolize our failure to keep this promise, it is Shlomo Mansour. The 86-year-old Iraq-born Holocaust survivor was a grandfather of 12, one of the original builders of Israel, and a Founder of Kibbutz Kissufim. Shlomo was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7th and subsequently murdered. They are still holding his body captive.🎗️💔

Saturday’s hostage release took place in central Gaza for the first time. You will note that the buildings in the background are mostly intact. The IDF largely avoided operating in central Gaza as Hamas was reportedly holding the majority of hostages there and the IDF did not want to endanger them.
