A poster found in one of the masajids in Yemen is for a lesson from seventeen years ago by the Sheikh and Allamah, the Muhaddith Muhammad al-Imam حفظه الله. The announcement of this lecture dates back seventeen years, which is the age of some of those who are now writing insults and curses about the Sheikh on social media. The Sheikh was an Allamah and Muhaddith before they were born; what is he now? May Allah preserve our scholars in Yemen, especially our Sheikh Abu Nasr Muhammad Al-Imam.

Question: What are the books recommended for studying Tawheed and combating Shirk? Answer: I recommend (Fath al-Majid Sharh Kitab al-Tawhid) by the grandson of Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. Additionally, (Taysir al-'Aziz al-Hamid Sharh Kitab al-Tawhid) is also highly recommended. I advise reading these two books and benefiting from them, as well as (Tathir al-I'tiqad) by Al-San'ani, (Al-Durr Al-Nadid) by Al-Shawkani, and (Sharh al-Sudur fi Tahrim Raf' al-Qubur) also by Al-Shawkani. Even if you only read these mentioned books, (Fath al-Majid) alone is sufficient to purify one's Aqeedah. Some might say: The author is from Najd and a Wahhabi? The Wahhabi is better than you, O Sufi, and better than you, O Shia. The Wahhabis call upon Allah and believe in Allah. I am not asking you to blindly follow the Wahhabis; I am asking you to take the evidence from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, from those books that have compiled the evidence. You could say that Al-Bukhari was a Wahhabi because he stated in his Sahih: "Chapter on visiting soothsayers," meaning what is the ruling on visiting soothsayers, and he brought evidence that prohibits that. He said, "Do not visit them" or something to that effect. So, I say to you: Take the truth from whoever brings it, and from whoever you find it. Qutaylah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: The Jews came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "You are associating partners with Allah; you say, 'What Allah wills and what Muhammad wills,' and you swear by the Kaaba." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Say, 'What Allah wills, then what Muhammad wills,' and say, 'By the Lord of the Kaaba.'" He accepted the truth from the Jews, and there is a similar hadith from Al-Tufayl. So, the truth is accepted from whoever brings it. Our early scholars accepted the truth from whoever brought it, and a Yemeni would travel to an Egyptian, a Makkan to a Baghdadi, and a Nisaburi to a Yemeni. They would travel and benefit from each other. Unlike many contemporary scholars, except those whom Allah has shown mercy, knowledge has become governmental.
