What every believer MUST know(1) Philemon 1:6 KJV [6] That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Paul teaches here that the believer must communicate(share) his faith by knowledge . The word 'acknowledge' here is the Greek word " Epignosis", it originally means an accurate and precise understanding of facts, events, times and persons. The believer must have this knowledge. Every good thing in You, In Christ Jesus. The believer is identified in Christ. To know what he has, he looks into Christ. Not a mere glance or casual view . James 1:22-25 KJV [22] But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein , he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. He must like the doer of the Word continue to look in the mirror. This mirror isn't the Law of Moses. Moses's law is sin and death (Romans 8:1-2). It's never had or will ever have liberty. This mirror is the new covenant in Christ. Original text quotes it as " Law of perfect liberty". Paul calls it the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus(Romans8 :2). It has life. He also calls it the Law of Faith(Romans3:27). It has faith. This mirror is in Christ. It is Christ Jesus. He had prayed for the believers in Ephesus about the same kind of knowledge . Ephesians 1:17 KJV [17] That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: This knowledge is "fact specific". Ephesians 1:19-21 KJV [19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, [20] Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places , 21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: To know accurately and precisely what God did in Christ, three days and three nights. To know the power therein. To know how the power is available for (to)the believer , To know this as a fact-Christ was raised and made to sit far above,without any further "above". This is the glory of His inheritance in the Saints. Saints refer to believers. Furthermore, The believer will see himself. Ephesians 1:22-23 KJV [22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, [23] Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. All things done to Christ were( are) given to His body, The Church. Thus by identification, the believer is in view here. He teaches further in the next chapter . Ephesians 2:5-6 KJV [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: He raised us from sins' doldrums into Life. It's not a process. It's an instant fact. The dead are not raised in stages. We thus stepped out of death to Life. Just like Christ. We are now where He is. Some still sing " I am going higher. yet higher,into the presence of God" They sound ignorant. There is no further height here. Others, sing "we are going up to the high places to tear the devil's kingdom down". In Christ, the devil is down ,the believer is seated above. If we had taken to Paul's admonition to Philemon ,we would have departed from such low level expectation and see what Christ has done. Done for us. Done to Us. Done in Us. What the believer has is in Christ. Who he is ,is in Christ. Where he is, is in Christ. Blessed? I acknowledge I am in Christ, All that's in Christ is mine. As a young minister When starting a new work,your expectations are high Growth etc But somehow, things get stagnant those you trusted leave The worst part is boredom sets in You are tempted to quit or compromise or both Unknown to you It's in this Boredom that you get trained the Most! When no one is cheering That's when you start ministry for real and you gather depth Dear Friends Let me encourage you as I encourage myself Don't quit Stay there Keep at it Don't be weary of doing the same things even when less excited You are growing through the pain But that's real growth Keep planting and watering God won't forget your labour He will give the increase When? What Revd Kenneth Haginsaid about his father: I believe that my father, Rev. Kenneth E. Kenneth Hagin was one of thegreatest men of God of this generation. I know I'm a little prejudiced,but I'd believe that even if I weren't his son. I certainly know a great number of other people who feel the same way I do. Throughout my life, I listened attentively to Dad, trying to learn asmuch of his wisdom as I could. I always stood in awe of the revelations he received from God's Word over the years. In this book, Dad makes the statement that all those revelations came to him as a result of much prayer and studying the Word. I can personally attest to the truth of that statement. I have vivid memories of my dad when I was six and seven years old and he was pastoring his last church before he went out on the field.Many times as I went to bed at night in that small, old parsonage, I'd look over at my dad—a tall, skinny young man of about 31 years old—as he sat bowed over his desk in the corner, studying the Bible by the light of a little desk lamp. Sometimes I'd wake up and turn over in the middle of the night, and there that young man would be, still sitting at that desk. Mom would wake me up for school the next morning, and Dad would still be sitting there, with books and open Bibles lying all over the desk or spread out on the floor around him. Dad would always get up from his desk and sit down at the kitchen table to eat breakfast with my sister Pat and me before we left for school. But many times when I came home from school in the afternoon, I'd see my dad still sitting at that same desk, surrounded by the same books and open Bibles. I remember many mornings when I'd wake up and find out that my dad had prayed all night long. Without ever having gone to bed, he would take a shower and clean up; then he'd go out to take care of the business of the church all day long. Dad would simply say, "Well, the Holy Spirit will refresh me." So if you have ever wondered how Kenneth E. Hagin learned all that he knew and all that he taught to so many people over his almost 70years of ministry, now you know. He received that revelation knowledge by studying the Bible and other good books and by praying hours upon hours on end. Do you want to get to where my dad was in his spiritual walk?
