@adamwathan My setup is similar. You could reduce it one cable with a TB4 dock. I've found that every now and then I need to open the display to wake it up or reconfigure displays.

Why is this bad? 1. Changes decades of muscle memory. 2. You are in a meeting and quickly want to hide windows, what took one click, now takes 3. 3. Who asked for this? 4. Why not make it configurable? 5. How would you feel if someone overlayed the windows start button?

#MicrosoftTeams on #MacOS now overlays the OS minimize/maximize buttons with this nonsense, with no way to override. I'm convinced there is a department of stupid ideas and bad UX at Microsoft.
