Following recent updates from the local authority & emergency services as well as assessing transport links, we have had to take the decision to remain closed until 05.03.18. The safety of our Sacred Heart community must be our first priority. Keep safe everyone.

The letters that our Year 7,8 and 9 wrote to the residents at Roseberry Care home in Redcar have been received. The residents were overjoyed. Well-done to everyone involved for bringing some Christmas joy.

We recognise that for our Year 11 students, tomorrow is likely to be your last school day at Sacred Heart. You will have some time together P5 to be able to sign leavers books and shirts. Please bring a 2nd shirt as you won’t be allowed to sign the one you are wearing.

The Head Student Team presented their cheque for £1434 to the Redcar Foodbank last week. It was the money they raised at their Christmas quiz night. The money will help fund food parcels for children and families who struggle to afford food during school holiday periods. Amazing!

Year 7,8 & 9 have been writing letters in English to our local care home, Roseberry Court. The letters will be delivered on Friday to provide some festive cheer to the residents. There have been some incredibly moving letters and we’re super proud!

Sports News: Yesterday Sacred Heart left Headingley as the newly crowned Yorkshire county indoor cricket county champions!
The boys were excellent all day winning every group game then snatching victory from the jaws of defeat in both the semi final and the final. Well done guys!

Our under 13 football team have retained their county cup title with a very hard fought win 4-2 win on penalties against a strong High Tunstall side who pushed us all the way in a 2-2 draw after extra time.

Ethan Burt one of Sacred Heart’s ex students has just published his first book.
Ethan has just passed an entranced medical exam to go too university, hoping to become a brain surgeon.
The book is about a rare incurable genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis.

It’s great to hear when our students show acts of kindness in our community. Today we heard of Danny Lawrence’s efforts. Danny, one of our Y7 students has been raising money, buying and delivering fresh fruit to families affected by Covid19. Well done Danny we are super proud! 👏🏻

Today the judging for World Book day took place. Well done to 9C for their 'Wizard of Oz’ winning entry, 10R for the 'Tiger who came to tea' and 7R for 'Wonder' who were awarded, second and third prize respectively. Our corridors are looking very creative.

Our Christmas Quiz in aid of the Foodbank raised an astonishing £457.37 which will be match funded to £1400. This will hopefully be delivered on 22nd December to the Redcar Foodbank. Welldone to all involved!

Mrs Norminton’s baby boy, was born very premature and was cared for at North Tees Hospital. The Neoangels Charity provided support for all the family. Last week Mrs Norminton delivered the cheque to say “thank you”. Well done to all involved.
