I don't know who else might need to hear this but sometimes proper anatomy does not look right in drawing. sometimes foreshortening looks wrong, sometimes dynamic poses require make-believe bones. it's okay. movement and message > anatomy.

I don't understand what people get out of dogging on angular / stiff styles. not every illustrator out here wants to work in animation. sometimes it's not about the "motion," it's not about the "fluidity," it's about the image, the color, the motifs, the narrative.

it's upsetting that this has happened to most freelance creative jobs. voice acting, illustrating, animating. you can't just be good at your one thing, you have to market (yourself) via streaming, and capitalist content creation. even shop owners stream packing their stuff now.
You should be able to make a living as a VA without having to become a streamer, influencer or "internet personality." No shade to folks who survive and thrive in those fields, but it shouldn't be de rigueur or a barrier to entry for new talent.

here are some quick tips for people taking commissions through paypal. use paypal invoicing. please don't charge your client for paypal fees. be sure to select "digital goods" on invoice so that your clients do not need to give you their address. and enable the option for tips.

I have talked to other artists and the evidence that engagement due to algorithm changes is overwhelming ; some struggle to sell commissions, some can't move product out of their shops. these are tangible hits to our income. all I can ask is please, please, please make "lists.".

I can only speak for myself, but when artists say there is a difference between commercial and commission prices, we generally do not mean you using the art as a personal print, sticker, charm, even t-shirt. we mean using it as merchandise you sell, or putting it on a book cover.

a dear lesbian friend and mentor of mine spent the aids crisis working with other lesbians to prepare and deliver meals to gay and bisexual men, most of which died. many of which then had to have their funerals planned by said lesbians as they had no one who wanted to claim them.
