I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to St. Cloud State University! Thank you to Coach Dolan and the rest of the staff for giving me this opportunity! Can’t wait to compete in the NSIC with a great program!!
I had Tommy John surgery this past February. The last 6 months have been anything but easy. There are many lessons to be learned from an experience like this. Here are 10 I find important and helpful.
5ks in a complete game vs Royals Scout Team earlier this year at the 16u national Championship’s. Sitting low 80’s, up to 85. Working in the off speed a lot this summer.

1.Patience is key
TJ is a long process, getting ahead of yourself and rushing your rehab can end up leading you down the wrong path. Learn to be patient and realize it will all work out eventually, even when it seems like it will be forever until your healthy again.
4.Set short term goals
A lot of people are focused on that first game back but setting short term goals for small things like being able to straighten your arm fully again or being able to pick up your backpack will allow you to feel a sense of accomplishment more often.
honest with yourself
Being straight up with yourself and accepting you won’t be playing for a long time will allow you to focus on your rehab rather then dwell on your injury.
3.Find other hobby’s to peruse
With so much time on your hands post op without being able to play baseball, I think it is important to find something else you love and are capable of doing to help keep your mind off whatever injury you may be facing.
7.Learn discipline
It’s easy to get off track and not follow your rehab plan when the process is so long. Learning to stay true to your rehab plan early will only help you in the long run.

STORY 📝

9.Listen to other rehab stories
Listening to other rehab stories makes me feel a sense of excitement for my future. Hearing about other people who have made full comebacks makes me feel more confident that I will succeed.
2.Staying involved is powerful
Being away from baseball is tough. Especially if you are injured during the season and are stuck in the dugout. But staying around the game and my team served as a reminder as to why I want to keep pushing hard in my rehab.
on little things
You may not be at 100% but working on little things during this long process will be helpful and is totally manageable. Find even the smallest things you want to improve on and get after it.
6.Remind yourself why
Sometimes it is tough to stay motivated during long rehabs. Reminders of why you are going through this and what you want out of it will spark that motivation again.
